Or they think Akuffo Addo comes from Akyem so that if they show it he or anybody who wants favour from the president will to their aid. If one looks at the picture the building started breaking up years ago and the citizens have been going about their duties without bothering to work on it. Now a fellow Akyem is the president so pressmen will be there, take pictures and bring their plight as national problem. This is one of the numerous problems facing Africans. Self-help is strange to us. We fold our hands and expect the government to even spoon-feed us.
I am not sure there is even one singular wise man in this town. Are there no bricklayers and carpenters in the town? Can't people think about their welfare? If the president were not to respond, what would you say about him? What will other non-Akyem towns facing similar problems think?
How long will the chief and citizens wait and see the school block fall apart? Are there no wise people in the town to sound it into the empty heads of the citizens that they are also part of the government and so if tvey help themselves no one will put them into prison?
