Kofi Boakye's removal was simply political,nobody in his right mind will remove a police officer who is strong in fighting crime to a research department which is generally a mere office job rendering him hopeless,that Apeatu guy who is already 60 years and should not be IGP in the first place is on vengeance to pay back people perceived to have been put in places he thinks he should have been, his first move and victims were the two heads of the CID department where he was before he was moved, he did not take professionalism in all that he is doing into consideration,it is all political,at least.

Some say variety is the spice of life. Being transferred to various departments gives you the all round experience needed to take or do work of a CEO/IGP. Regional head of police is not higher than a position at the head office. Kofi Boakye clearly did a very good job in kumasi but his personal development is also very important.
When you are taken from another region and brought not just to accra but the head office, let me assure you it means your career is heading the right way. Maybe you should ask Mr Boakye himself what he thinks

"When Mohammed Alhassan took over from Paul Quaye he also transferred some officers to different locations within the same government, and, so, it is when police leadership changes that the transfers are done, not when government changes. Every IGP has his own mission, hence the transfers.”
If the IGP's appointment is political, all the changes he makes are, by extension, political too.
