It is an undeniable fact that the past NDC Minister of Sports is a patapaa man of Ga extraction,the mayibo clan,I aggree in priciples with him for his idea of hiring a Ghanaian trainer instead of foreign trainer.It is the best way of encouraging our men and women who are in this sector to acknowlege the fact that they have chosen the right career in their life time to boast off,but the problem with the football Association is not a matter of a local trainer or a foreign trainer but rather, a problem of management practiice which lacks some fundemental principles which makes the players arrogant and inconsistant to give credence to offer their services to Ghana as their mother land.They must be patriotic to make choices when it comes to the call to play for Ghana.They sometimes offer their services reluctantly in favour to play for Ghana and therefore play substandardly with the view that,they may get wounded affecting their involvement in European leagues or elsewhere they play under contrct.The management must find a lucrative incentives to attract the so called foreign players to love their country more than the countries they play for their percuniary interest.

Something is missing. The football clubs in Ghana are hiring foreign coaches. Kotoko and Hearts, the most popular clubs, are part of this craze. Isn't this telling us that the local coaches are bad or lack something?

Appoint Ghanaian coaches from now on, cut the $50K down to not more than $7K with his assistant taking $5K monthly. Give the players $2K, 3K and $5K winning bonuses for friendlies, CAF/FIFA organized matches and tournaments in that order. Everything about soccer in Ghana is on the high side. We need to cut our coats to size. If the GFA wants the salaries of our stars to be compared to their international counterparts, they should look for that from corporate bodies.
