  Essentially, they want to change the process. Everyone else plays in group stages and the top 16 join the Europeans for a 32 team knock out stage. Sounds very Eurocentric to me.

  You missed the point. What they are saying is that there will be 16 groups made up of 3 teams. Now the Europeans want their 16 representatives to be distributed evenly into these 16 groups so that the situation does not arise ...

  You missed the point. What they are saying is that there will be 16 groups made up of 3 teams. Now the Europeans want their 16 representatives to be distributed evenly into these 16 groups so that the situation does not arise where we shall have 2 European teams in a group. They are also hoping that because of their assumed high standards, all their 16 representatives will progress to the next stage which will be the knockout stage

  Thank you for the clarification. Still not happy with the format. Why not 12 groups of four. Take only the group winners and the top four second place teams.

  Out of the 52 teams equal to european 40plus teams. Which means the two top teams of African qualifiers should play world cup. I do not think, if it comes to national teams, Africa is far away. And soccer does not follow logi ...

And soccer does not follow logics. Germany could easily beat Nigeria, not Ghana nor bourkina faso. Some style of plays corrodes frictionaly to surprising points.

European teams do not want to friendly black stars who are able to humiliate bigshots.
