Over $30 million was paid to Agbesi Woyome for no work done, not to forget the over GHc200 million paid for the purchase of guinea fowls, which took advantage of free movement of animals within the ECOWAS sub-region and migrated to Burkina Faso.

Ghana's new government is trying to track down more than 200 cars missing from the president's office, a government spokesman has said.
The ruling party counted the cars a month after taking power following victory in December's elections.
After previous transfers of power, state-owned cars have been seized from officials who did not return them.
A minister in the former government said the implied allegation of wrongdoing by his colleagues was false.
Former Communication Minister Omane Boamah told the BBC's Thomas Naadi that this was "a convenient way for the new government to justify the purchase of new vehicles".

Presidential spokesman Eugene Arhin told the press that officials could only find:
74 of the presidency's 196 Toyota Land Cruisers
20 of the 73 Toyota Land Cruiser Prados
11 of the 24 Mercedes
two of the 28 Toyota Avalons
two of the six BMWs.
Ghanaian radio station Citi FM reported that the president has been "forced to use a 10-year-old BMW" as a result.
In making the statement Mr Arhin revealed the president's office was meant to have more than 300 cars but he did not divulge the purpose of these vehicles.
Nana Akufo-Addo from the the New Patriotic Party won the Ghanaian presidential election at the beginning of December, taking power from John Mahama, of the National Democratic Congress.

Information reaching The Chronicle from the seat of government, indicates that the Atta Mills led presidency would soon set up a committee of enquiry to investigate the whereabouts of 757 vehicles, which were imported into the country by the Kufuor administration, and has gone missing. The 757 vehicles were part of 882 vehicles and 86 motorbikes imported into the country by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government between 2003 and 2008, at the total cost of $20, 174, 159.39.
The decision follows the official rejection of a list of 385 vehicles and 35 motor bikes submitted by the former Chief of Staff, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, of which only 125 had been traced. Official documents sighted by The Chronicle, which were prepared by the government transitional team, revealed that on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, the Joint Transitional Team on Executive Assets met at the Castle and the Chairman of the main Transitional Team for the outgoing administration, Mr. Mpiani handed over notes that included list of vehicles to the Chairman of the Executive Assets Committee, Dr. Don Arthur.

The president was quick to add that “corporate Ghana in particular will provide the funds for the anniversary” and that his ambition is to commemorate the anniversary “with the minimum or no burden at all on the national treasury”.

Roads are still under construction, schools are still under tress and massive graduate unemployment.Our forest is depleted and I was expecting NPP to pospond this anniversary celebrate as Tanzania president did and use the occasion to plant trees or shell better trees.
