This journalist actually got it all wrong ???? .the trailer was actually heading towards Achimota .the driver did his best to save lifes.

oh Ghana, how can you allow such trucks, used the same road with these small vechicles? For how long, can these bridges take such loads? in the USA, there are speciall roads for heavy duty trucks, and some for vans, pickupos ...

Its by this that tyhe roads and overpasses coul;d stay strong and last.
in the USA newJersy, you will not see such Trucks on the 280 or the turnpike. they have their roads called the 1 & 9. Do you think the white man is not wise enough to put all vechiles on the same Road? yes but becase of the weight and etc, there are divisons. Untill you apply such mind sets, your roads and bridges would not last.

Some of statement are not true. The only road that does not allow trucks in New Jersey is the Garden State Parkway!! Yes the NJ turnpike has a special route for tractor trailers ( trucks) but other cars and buses can use it at will. I think these drivers need to take special courses like we do here to get a CDL license. And also these trucks need to be monitored and maintained in a safely manner. My little cent!!!

Most of them take bribes from drivers for faulty vehicles, expired insurance, drink-driving, speeding and overloading. Ask yourself, are these not the major ingredients for all these accidents, apart from bad roads?

It's about time the police strictly enforce the LAWS and STOP taking bribes and cut out the CORRUPTION!

GHANAIANS these are issues to comment on and protest. Not the GUTTER POLITICS we waste our energy on, for a few to chop.

You got it all wrong, dude! Who examines the vehicles plying our roads? I am sure that truck was already written off and banned from European roads before it was shipped into Ghana, a refuse dump. Sorry

They were introduced to Ghana in the 1970s during Kutu Acheampong's regime, yet they are still being used on the roads as trotro. They are mobile death traps. Apparently most are owned by police officers, so the least said the better. Can the government explain how all these death traps are plying the roads, yet atrocious import duties are imposed on vehicles over the age of 10 years (the so called over age vehicles), which have been maintained and passed roadworthy tests from Europe and North America etc. We are living in the dark ages! Mad mad import duty regime!

Poor driving skills, uneducated Ghanaians, no care for lost of life. This happens time and time again and nothing seems to happen. life in Ghana is so cheap. Can you not see that the truck is over weight.

Route 1 and 9 do not stretch beyond NJ so I wonder if you really know what you're talking about.

The NJ turnpike has special route for trucks, but other cars and buses can use it as well. Pls do your homework and stop saying stuff that you know nothing about!!! What Ghana needs to do is regulate these drivers and make sure they have all the necessary training in operating these trucks. PS: My hubby is a truck driver in NJ have been living most of my life
