NDC HAS MILKED GHANA DRY: NDC guys are crooks. The other time Dr Apaak, a presidential staffer under Mahama, came out to claim that an amount of $5.9M was rather the cost of the new Veep Mansion. Then NDC Deputy Minority leader, James Klutse Avedzi, also said the amount is $5.0M. Now the NDC General Secretary is saying the amount is $3.5M. It is only the NPP that has remained consistent with $13.9 so far. It appears the NDC is not saying the truth. They are doing this to defend Thief Mahama at all cost. However, pressure mounted on the NDC has forced Allotey Jacobs, the NDC chairman for Central Region to admit guilt. He stated on Peace Fm that the fresh document from Consar on the cost of the project brings finality to the controversy surrounding the cost, adding that contesting the cost is impossible.

“With what has come from Consar Limited, it is difficult to defend this issue. They are on the job and what they have put out settles the controversy surrounding the cost of the project. If Consar themselves have put out this information, then what do I have to say…nothing.” THIEVES WILL ALWAYS THEIR FELLOW THIEF AT THE PERIL OF THEIR LIVES.

Where there's smoke there's fire.Ghanaians didn't just perceive corruption under Mahama's government.We witnessed it.We saw it when the president's brother bought airplanes,sports minister bought a football club and the other ministers bought businesses and mansions with their"government's salaries".The impertinence and impunity with which they acted was most galling and frightening.No President or party must ever be allowed such unaccountability again.The only way for NDC to remove this stain on their reputation is by reforming the party and purging out those with dirty hands.

This is not the time to talk about the obvious reason resulting in the Mahama Adminitration humiliating,bruising defeat,the first of its kind in the fourth republic.It was nothing but endemic,pervasive corruption with impunity and gusto.Corruption gained so much grounds that even rule of law was completely shuttered and flagrant abuse of fundamental rights of vulnurable ones without money or power most high.JDM rightly fit into the description of 'power corrupt,absolute power corrupt absolutely'that gave him the wrong impression that money and authoritarianism will win him power at all cost.His penchant for vindictive tendencies and oppression of people including party members critical of corruption in his government was his Waterloo.He enjoyed the praise singing in the midst of corruption at epidermic level that got majority of Ghanaians hungry and angry.Even his close associates knew corruption and opulence made his government extremely unpopular but decided to play the ostrich for their own parochial interest.The likes of lawyer Raymond Atugiba fizzled out because of corruption and indiscipline even at the seat of governance,the Flagstaff House. I think if the likes of Batidam were candid with the ex-President and allow prosterity to judge them,it would have helped JDM a great deal.That was even more imperative in his case because his job was primarily to deal with the canker of corruption under the Mahama Administration.Under the past regime that was a herculean task if not mission impossible because everything suggest high profile government functionaries were not just deeply involved in corruption but sort to institutionalized and legalized it.The Mahama Government sort to apply Karl Max Theory and Principle of controlling the poor masses through few oligarchs.The reasoning that he and his cohorts could influence election results capitalizing on poverty and ignorance of the Ghanaian people was unscientific and completely flawed.That was never going to work with rapid urbanization,population increase,increase in literacy rate and proliferation of mass media including social media.The NDC as a party have a very good voter base with most floating voters sympathetic towards the party.It is very easy to adduce reasons for that and that is because majority of Ghana's youthful population belong to the era of the PNDC revolution and bought into the idea of probity,accountability and integrity that ensured social justice and equality in the interest of the poor masses.The Mahama Government's attitude towards corruption and flagrant illigalities got people asking hard core questions about the social democratic credentials of the NDC and deviation of its core ideology as a party.This was a government that sat aloof in the midst of organized mass crimes in our public institutions.It also encouraged summary illegal dismissals of anti-corruption voices from public institutions and fought with alacrity to suppress obvious cases of corruption and illegalities with criminal implications in the high courts through the AG Department.Some of these cases are still pending in court all in a desperate attempt to cover rot and protect high profile but corrupt public officials and government functionaries.Mr.Batidam is of course right in his assertion that the populace who so massively endorse the NPP because of flagrant corruption with impunity under the Mahama Government will certainly judge the NPP based on how it tackles corruption and social injustices in the interest of majority poor rather than encouraging the opposite in the interest of few elites.The 2016 election was a citizen revolt against corruption and injustices rather than a democratic election by the yawning gap with which the NDC was beaten.I saw multitudes irrespective of political affiliations move in masses over long distances from their place of residents to their respective constituencies to campaign for the NPP.I saw many affiliated with the NDC campaigned for the NPP because they were not happy with the Mahama Government in dealing with the problem of corruption and opulence in the midst of economic slump and mass suffering.It is an emphatic statement that Ghanaians will no longer tolerate any form of cheating and exploitation by unscrupulous,selfish politicians who do not have the citizens at heart.Take the case of a doctor dismissed from the Ghana Health Service through an obvious fabrication of a mental illness simply because he spoke against a bribery scandal that saw a teenager refused blood transfusion and died in the process simply because she could not afford an illegal fee of Gh.C50.The current Director General Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira dismissed the doctor in less than one month of assumption of post without the courtesy of audience.The decease Patient Sakpetey whose pathetic story was widely captured in both traditional and social media actually had her folder called for by GHS headquarters in an obvious attempt to implicate the doctor on duty that night who actually attended to the deceased.A new Director General comes and summarily dismiss the doctor ostensibly to cover an obvious act of corruption bothering on criminality through blackmail.We have had so many instances of these kind of illegalities in our public institutions where workers viewed as threat to institutional corruption have been falsely implicated and dismissed to cover rot under the Mahama regime with most of these cases largely suppressed through the AG Department in the interest of government.These acts constitute serious breach to the rule of law and fundamental human rights.Hopefully,the new government will deal with these serious human rights violation as many stood up for the NPP in the midst of intimidation and threats because they wanted freedom and justice that was far fetched because of the slavery shackles of unprecedented corruption and illegalities that rendered the rule of law redundant under the Mahama Government.We want to see a paradigm shift where the AG Department will investigate and punish top public officials who engage in illigalities and corruption bothering on flagrant abuse of rights of defenseless subordinates rather than shield them because of ties with powers that be and to avoid judgement debt in the process.If the new regime does not eschew nepotism,cronyism and associated corruption,major lapses of the Mahama Government;to allow state institutions, especially law enforcing ones to work,then they will simply be embarking on a wild goose chase as far as fighting the corruption canker is concerned.The new Independent Prosecutor(a very laudable idea)in particular should not have its hands tied.The usual norm is that people are happy when there is fairness and justice.There is no doubt that directly dealing with corruption guarantee governmental success in the context of political power.
