  I will really like know where the girl's father was when the mother allowed her developing teenage daughter to go and spend the night with a male teacher.I am not willing to condemn the accused based on hearsay alone.We are still dealing with the painful consequences of rushing to jail a teacher in Northern region for raping and impregnating a teen student only to find 15 years later he was not the baby's father.I hate to say this but I will rather err at the side of caution.By any interparatation of the law he is innocent until the court can prove him guilty.Prove that he is guilty beyond reasonable doubt and we will skin him alive.

  Kwadaso, Your premise that "Innocent until proven guilty" is one of the fundamental legal precepts that must be accorded to anyone suspected or accused of a crime. Such principle validities rule of law in modern societies that adheres to democratic governance. The concept is certainly indisputable, otherwise the entire legal/criminal justice system will be at great peril. Having said that however, you seem to be needlessly assigning blame by asking "where the girl's father was when the mother allowed developing teenage daughter to go and spend the night with a male teacher". Does that really matter? Here we have a 48 year-old educator – professional teacher who's allegedly raped or put differently and mildly, had sex with a 15 year-old child consensual or not and you're asking where's the girl's father…? At issue is not about the whereabouts of the victim's father. It's about the crime that's allegedly been committed, and if it proves to be true, it will not be only criminal, but professionally and morally unconceivable. You also made mention of a similar incident in Northern Region in which DNA later substantiated that a rapist did not father the child of the teenage girl who was allegedly raped. It may have been that the girl was pregnant before she was raped and the in itself does not preclude the fact she was indeed raped by her alleged assailant. The law is imbued with a lot of technicalities, which clearly require exhausted interpretations, and hence agreeably, everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. However, presumption of innocence until proven guilty must not be mitigated with victim-blaming. It's not by accident for instance that a whole new academic sub-discipline referred to as victimology, which takes its roots from both sociology, criminology and in conjunction of the legal/criminal justice system has emerged lately, and I urge you to read a bit more around the subject.

  Put this guy away for the rest of his life. It is despicable and shameful for a 48 year old man to plan and execute such a shameful act on a young, innocent girl. May he burn in hell.
