These tribes are hardly agreed on who becomes a King hense the fragmented Kingdoms based on territorial boundaries which in itselfs are contestable and are always in contention. They hardly have any unified leadership ever.

Where is the National house of Chiefs and Greater Accra house of Chiefs? If a particular Chief has been gazetted by the National house of Chiefs, why can't the Police arrest any imposter acting as a Chief?

Know that the National House of chiefs does not install chiefs.. It is only a national registry of chiefs
The king makers would install their chiefs, present him/her to the Respective Paramount chief and the paramount chief would forward such a name to the Regional House of chiefs and then The National house of chiefs.
So, whenever a chief is de-stooled and a new on is installed, such names are forwarded for registration and de-listing of the de-stooled chief....
So, it appears that the traditional chief or king makers do have the last say in who is the legitimate chief.. Not the National House of chiefs...

The problem with the Gas is that , they never had a position of overlord of the Ga people like the Asantes . The Ga Mantse title was instituted by Kwame Nkrumah as a rival to the Asantehene. So you see the confusion.
