So on what basis is Mr. Asante' claim that free education cannot be sustainable now that it iis going to be extended to cover the kids of the poor, hardworking kookoo farmers upon whose sweat Ghana is what it is today? What good for the Northern must be good for all Ghanaians. What is the need for Ghana to drill oil if the ordinary citizen cannot see and feel the benefits? Let me tell uncle KB that Ghana wore its best cloth the very moment the voters dump the fugu/batakari for Asante-Bonwire Kente. All shall be well with Ghanaians because good governance has come to its right place. Judicious spending and quality management of our resources will help sustain the free education, and also maintain the feasibility of the one district one factory, one village one dam campaign promise. Folks when can we for once think outside the box? KBA is old thinking. Of course there is no human dispensation that is eternal? All things eventually pass including life. A period of free SHS will bring the level of illiteracy in our country at the basic required level. We bankrupt our thinking by looking at money first in everything we do. It is all about prioritizing allocation of our resources. We need to compete globally and cannot have a population of only a few lucky and privileged citizens with education. So we must in the shortest possible time raise the literacy competence of our people to cover a minimum of 90%. of our total population. After a generation or two when we have achieved that vision then we can revisit the policy when free will be based on need.

The will charge fees likebabprivate school. Teachers and workers bill not be paid from consolidated fund. No scholarship

Soonwe shall produce only Akuffo-Addos, Bentsi-Enchills, JB Danquahs, Arko-Korsahs, Annie-Jiagges, Blays etc until another 'Kofi Nwiah' a stow-away is invited home to liberate the down-trodden verandah boys the Krobo-Eduseis, Kofi Baakos,etc such that today the rural Assin, Sehwi, boys 'nnso wo krom.' KB Asante is worried about sustainability but is nothing. Will Free SHS give Equal Opportunity? What about the brilliant rural child who cannot make it up thru' JSS to enjoy Free SHS because of povervety, no trained qualified teachers, good facilities etc. GNAT sees feasibility because will have freed funds to pay for hand-outs & special classes. NPP dont be impulsive as your Leo-man. Else....

While talking about free education let us not forget of its quality and acceptable minimum standard our public basic and second cycle schools and staffing. No head of school will dance of 90% failures in his/her school so the education minister must shut up and consult expert in education to find sustainable solutions to the problem and stop threatening teachers.
