  People opt for day schools for varied reasons other than boarding house affordability. So this policy is not going to change that choice significantly. You're just shallow.

  Folks you see , in this country we are brain dead. Nobody has said it is not doable. Infact a government can decide to make education free from kindergaten to the university but we need to answer certain pertinent questions.

  1. is it a prudent decision now looking at our circumstances
  2.At what cost?
  3. Is it sustainable?
  
  What exactly are we sacrificing so far as our development is concerned for this?
  
  Are we sacrificing hospitals, roads, bridges, school buildings.
  
  Education is not cheap in any civilised society so this whole business about free education does not make sense. lets equip the schools to a world class standard. We are just postponing the drop out rate from JSS to SHS simple but nothing is really going to come out of it. After churning out SHS graduate then what? Do we even have the universities to absorb them assuming they all decide to enter university? We need to think outside the box and stop this politics. Anything that is free is not valuable and will be trampled on in a very short time. Our certificates already are worthless and we want to worsen that situation. God save Ghana

All developed countries have free education till at least 16 years, and its free and for good reason - Its not cheap. I know cos I live in one. 3 The craze about university is pointless. Technical education is key and yields the best outcome. University edu. should be reserved for important research and for the brightest. Therefore I dont think we have to assume an automatic prigression to uni after SHS- No. Life is a free gift to you - Is it not valuable? A sophisticated and exposed person like Nana has placed his bet on the winning horse. Its agood gamble for Gh. Believe it and support it.

Have WE put up infrastructures to meet that?. Personally for the time been, everything should be free with the exception of what boading students pay until there is enough space for everything, If not we are going to see a system where only those whose parents can afford to pay BRIBE (surely government officiels) are going to be in the boading house eventhough it is said to be free.

He needs a pat in his shoulder, if you look into Ghana coffers and the economy situation as it is now with the inflation, any president will drop the implementation. This free education needs a president who is deep thinker like Nana. Is not easy but with God all things are possible. Yes l like James Kwabena Bomfeh suggestion that the government can rely on Get-fund,Coco-bod Scholarship etc to start.l feel pains how coco-bod scholarship is given to the rich children neglecting those in need. Instead of the money of coco bod being favour the few why not spread on free education for every child from Axim to Ha mile to Ada to Mim to gain. If Heritage fund cannot be used, what do you suggest. Bring your suggestion, how to fund this laudable free education. This free education is not benefit one region or a certain tribe. It is holistic benefit for a long term goal concerning human developments. This will curtail children moving from the north to the south to do Kaye-yee (porters) and galamasy jobs but they will concentrate on schooling. Free education will eliminate child labour or minimized it. Ghana is sick of child labour and the only way to solve it is free education. Let the people of Ghana embrace free education and find a lasting funding to it. Rome was not built in a day. Yes, in every situation or issue there is advantages and disadvantages. Let us look beyond party line and come in terms of love for our children future.Please let us not be selfish and be wise in our own eyes. This is the future of the nation. If a lot of us had this chance or opportunity majority of my friends and l would have been professors by now. Some students were genius but no help from above and ended them as palm wine tappers and other sources of unskilled workers. What is your suggestion or contribution to help the government to finance this important mission. Dr Kwame Nkrumah started it. Nana wants to continue. Please all hands must be on the deck to push free education forward. It is a bold decision the government has taking and it will benefit the nation as a whole. Thank you.
