Ali Tanti, you are right the goverment should start to stop free education for the northners. Even former president Mahama's childreen are enjoying free education to the detriment of the poor family in the south.

I, Odikro, was from a very poor family and was raised by a single mother. I went to one of the best schools in Ghana together with children of Ministers, Commissioners and Secretaries (as the imbecile Jerry Rawlings called his ministers). How could I have gotten singled out from the crowd of the Dadadas (real and fake ones)?

Private Schools will always prevail in Ghana, what this dumb-ass should have said and not even said at all is that there will be subsidies and you can use them as fit to send your child to any school you wish, by topping up or just acquiring basic free education.

If the idea is to dumb down our entire school system, or erase class distinction, it won't work. I will never send my child to 99% of schools in Ghana, because it is not about the money you pay, it is the quality of education. We have classrooms where the only language the teacher is comfortable in is Twi, the kids laugh all day at the way he or she pronounces certain basic words. An assistant teacher at a very expensive private school in accra argued with her pupils that the word "castle" is pronounced CASTELL, all the kids laughed and argued with the young lady, but she was persistent. I reported the matter to the headteacher who in turn reported the matter to the headmistress. She was removed as their Language Arts teacher, there was another big blunder I can't recal with this same teacher. These Twi-Induced teachers should not be allowed to teach our kids ever, because their main goal and objective is to prove that Twi is a powerful tool to advanced education, and it is NOT. Nowhere close to 5% efficient, but rather a deterrent and downgrade of the thinking abilities of our young
