  In the late 90s, the NDC was fully implementing the cash and carry hospital system and always oppose the health insurance scheme concept. They even went to the extent of detaining patients who could not afford to pay their hospital bills. It was the benevolence of the Catholic Church in Nkoranza that defied the strong resistance posed by the then NDC government to start the health insurance scheme. Later, when Kufuor came to power and laid the NHIS bill in parliament, all the NDC MPs walked out of parliament. After the NHIS law was passed, the NDC polluted the minds of Ghanaians that the NHIS does not work. Later, when the NDC realised that the NHIS was working to the admiration of all Ghanaians, they formulated another theory that it was the NDC government that started the NHIS on a pilot basis at Nkroaanza.
  Now, after criticising the Free SHS in 2008 and 2012 and claiming that Free SHS is not possible, the NDC is now saying that Mahama laid a strong foundation for Free SHS. Fellow Ghanaians, you can now see how shallow minded Mahama and his NDC goons are. They are simply a bunch of thieves.

  The NDC defines its political ideology as populist but they're just throwing dust into the people's eyes. Populism is a political style that mobilizes a large alienated element of a population against a government which is seen as controlled by an out of touch closed elite that acts in behalf of its own interests. They succeeded in fooling the people with their populist rants but they're nothing but just more of the same they pretend to loathe.
  Ghanaians need not be full of doubt about the NDC hypocrisy any more because the leadership of the party are as sick as the secrets they keep. The continued deception of the people keeps the NDC continually off balance and I'm not surprised some have predicted the NDC will stay out of power for the next 20 years.
  Everything said about them by Mr Agbesi Kwesi about their stonewalling of initiatives in the People's interest are all true. The cash and carry system they introduced killed many Ghanaians yet they refused to abandon this wicked plan. They stole the free SHS concept from the NPP and what they did with it can only be described as a complete disaster. Ghanaians are awakening from their slumber for they need not be full of doubt any more. Thanks Mr Agbesi Kwesi.

  Only the greedy and corrupt people especially the Politicians are against.The monies they steal to buy cars and houses in Europe,Usa,Canada and now Dubai can cater for all school going pupil,If those who have stolen monies and deposited them in Foreign Accounts will stop every town and village can get pipe borne water,asphalted road networks and more importantly Ghana can get Sewage System.Shame on those stealing State Cars.

  Mr. KB Asante, with all due respect the basis of your argument is outmoded (old school).A lot of good parents have become financially disabled as a result of the mismanagement of the economy - government failed in its ability to manage the value of the currency, high unemployment, lack of steady economic growth. In light of the aforementioned, do we still sit back and remind parents of their responsibility when they can't afford with government sitting on the heritage fund?
  Investing in education of the future generation is important and necessary if we want to steer the country to the right path. It doesn't matter the source of finance. These children with the right education would manage our country better. Think about the consequences of a large part of the population without education - social chaos.
  In advance countries like the United States of America, public education is free up to high school. At college level the states provide subsidy. The purpose of these is to move the country forward. Education is the key to development. We don't want to miss out on harnessing the potential of these children for a better future of our country by not educating them.
  What is the point in locking up the money in the heritage fund when we need the very money to better the future of those we claim we are saving the money for. For example will a parent save money for his children and not educate that child today to enable that child fend for him/her self in the future.
  If we have a transparent and accountable leadership in government who can protect the public purse let us join hands with that leadership to address tomorrows problems today.
  If an irresponsible government like Mahama's can earmark over thirteen million US dollars to build a house for the vice president we can do better. Money to finance the education for the future is not the problem, it the greed of our leaders that we should be concerned about.

  On the contrary,if we target specific projects where we are going to train more technicians,more professionals and artisans then I'll agree for rapid development.I'm sorry to say that lot of academicians don't necessarily develop any country.Don't worry be happy.
