Since independence we keep on hearing British aid to Ghana in million but at end notning has been done. I think most of the figures are cooked. Britain is not good for Ghana development

It's true.The article makes it seem as though Britain is doing us a favour, by being generous in procuring this medical equipment . But be warned the Brits are very shrewd. As soon as this equipment touches down in Ghana, there will be a heavy price to pay for its maintenance and to train technicians to be able to carry out repairs. The cost of parts is also going to be very costly, unless these costs are dealt with or included in the package it will not be a good deal.These are all things this private company will profit from. Have we not learnt anything from our previous dealings with British Corporations, they come to take not give. I work in the medical device sector and can see that these companies make a lot of money from the NHS by overpricing thier services and parts. This is where the majority of the profit is made not with the initial purchase of equipment but the maintenance. The NHS in Britain is even having financial problems, to the extent where clinical engineering departments have to take drastic cost saving measures so how will engineering departments in Ghana cope?

It is these negative tribal and political comments that stall our development. Even if there is none in the north can't we seek treatment in the other hospitals? It is impossible for every thing to get to all the places at the same time. Stop all this tribal bigotry. We are all tired.
