  I doff my hat for the Ecowas states for the way and manner they accelerated Yahya Jammel's removal to bring peace and tranquility to the impoverished tiny Gambia but one thing we also need to know is that Gambia is a sovereign state which do not need foreign occupation. The people of Gambia must be allowed to take their destiny into their own hands without too much interference. The dictator is gone and people are going about their lives in normalcy so why continually keep Ecomog troops in the country ? At least the Gambian army is aware of what is awaiting them, should they try to push the country to political instability by staging military coup. If we are able to send troops on peace keeping mission, why can't we deploy some of our soldiers to the villages and towns whose lives and farmlands are under constant threat by the normdic fulani cattle herdsmen who are raping vulnerable women whose livelihoods are dependably on their farms ? Is it because their sister is now doing fashion at the state house ?
