Is time teachers, adults pay close attention. A lot of teachers and adults are engulfed in their selves they simply don't care. sadly most of them claim to be CHRISTIANS TEACHERS or EDUCATORS.

Am not downplaying her death but it tells you she isn't used to the hard knocks of life and when this one came her way, she was overwhelmed. Folks, people are going through hell right here in Ghana but still they don't get come this close to "ending it all".

During my national service days in Tema, there was a'development fund' allocated for the Tema Newtown vicinity.We as national service personnels were sent to conduct a survey as to what the population of the vicinity saw as their top ranking need so the money could be spent to meet their need. We were hoping that the people would choose modern public toilets as they were defecating on the beach. Could be treacherous sometimes and unhygienic to say the least. Majority of the people rubbished the need for the public toilet. Why public toilet whereas we could use the beach free of charge? We were astonished beyond belief. Infact they did not really see any of the TMA suggestions of that development fund as necessary according to our survey so to them they did not have a problem! My point is what you consider a grave problem is not recognised as such by someone else.Don't be judgemental, just show compassion. Thank you.

This is quite an important matter, not just for suicide prevention, but to help students cope with any psychological issue.

It is really sad indeed, the magnitude of ignorance among some of the commentators on this platform. I have a beautiful, intelligent and well loved sister from a good and supportive home who battled depression without any of us close knit family members knowing. There was no indication whatsoever that my beloved sister had deep rooted issues because she was doing so well in Uni. She studied pharmacy in KNUST.She had a good circle of friends as well until things blew up out of the blue. I cant go into details here but we were fortunate, we found her in time, THANK GOD. Don't comment carelessly on issues you don't have a clue about. My sister graduated eventually and is now a proud pharmacist, of course receiving treatment and lots and lots of tender loving care. May this lovely young lady Rest in Peace.

This a wake up call for all of us to start paying attention to the psychological welfare of our people as a nation. If an MP's daughter is committing suicide then what wouldnt the daughter of a trotro driver at Kaneshie and that of the poor fisherman at Axim do?. We have a lot of mentally handicapped people around as our drivers, our politicians, our medical personnels etc. Just imagine a mentally disturbed driver, behind the wheel of a Youtong bus and you understand the seriousness of the situation.
