We can't always say we're going to construct roads, drainage etc when Ghanaians don't care about changing attitudes towards finding a lasting solution to our problems with flooding after rains. It's time for people, residents and businesses who flout our environmental and sewage laws to be held accountable for committing offenses against the nation. Those who indulge in indiscriminate dumping of refuse should be hauled to the courts to be given due sentences. That's the only way forward. There should not be any exceptions. Period! But I also wonder why the previous govt couldn't figure out how do include the drainage aspect of the "Over Pass" construction project? All in all, I believe it's a great relief for Ghana to have the new govt commit to complete the project by an additional drainage system. Kudos to H.E. The President, for his "forward march" vision!

Such a huge, non-experimental, project won't be given to some 'unorganized' KNUST engineers, but to a well established construction company. So to be able to take part in the project, the KNUST engineers MUST first become employees of the company. Or some KNUST engineers form their own construction company and also bid for the project. It is as simple as that.
If the project is awarded to a Ghanaian company then the chances are high that a KNUST engineer will be among the workers. If the project is awarded to a foreign company and the company looks for some local consultants then is also likely that some KNUST products will take part.
In the days that I studied in Ghana, one of my lecturers by name Dr Sodzi of the Faculty Of Engineering had his own electrical engineering company and won several bids for the complete wiring of buildings. Aside he was a consultant to several construction companies.

I was not surprised when I heard His Excellency Nana Akufo - Addo wanted to construct underground at Nkrumah Circle. The president believe in perfect and complete jobs. This portrays the president will soon transform Ghana to the standard of a developed country. I am not surprised both foreign investors and our brothers and sisters in the diaspora are trooping in the country to invest. This is because the Nana Akufo- Addo- led government has made Ghana so attractive. I presume there will be improvement in our infrastructure , health system, housing and education. I can confidently say with the appointment of competent and trustworthy ministers of state and Directors f government institutions, the Nana Akufo Addo - led - government will transform Ghana to be one of the best countries in the world.

This is long overdue. Hope this does not turn out to be d case of d vulture who promises to build a better nest during rain, then ignore it till another rain. What type of engineers comes out of our institutions? Why foreign and not locals?why select only three countries if u prefare to use foreign rather than locals .why not Germany as well.I used to work for Julius Berger in Lagos they are a proven company that can do it too.Do we have to fund these institutions when roads are always build by others outside these schools?.once again this has nothing to do with The alphabet soup out there ,d welfare of d people is more important than,NPP,NDC,CPP and all d rest .what these party's do best is try hard to out maneuver d other into submission.why not come together for d kids sake and build "Ankar wuor no bi nie" otherwise known as Ghana why why .? Something is seriously wrong when everything has to be imported despite sixty years of independence. To me d problem lies in our inability to teach d kids in the local tongue.Every one of these countries mentioned by d minister teaches their kids in their own language.if we are to develop as a nation we should use our God given language to communicate with d kids. Without exception everyone of d developed countries uses their native tongue first, then foreign second.I am not advocating for getting rid of english in schools, it should be second to our own, I am repeatedly told it can not be done because Ghana is a multi lingual nation so it is better to use some one's rather than choosing d dominant one. I am sorry I am beginning to sound like a broken record here but this calls for a national dialogue. What about razing Accra like they did in Paris and start over a well planned city .perhaps bring it down in sections start from one to ten.one section at a time.

The long advocacy for subterranean culverts in Ghana seems to be now reaching somewhere. It is long overdue. No country with widespread open gutters and filth that always carpet the streets after rains has any prospect of developing into a modern healthy Nation.
The horrible spectacle of garbage flowing all around in our Cities and Towns in rainstorms is a big turn off to prospective tourists. Therefore, it must be taken seriously.
We need to immediately begin to shift from the open Thrash Dumps and Incinerators that pollute our environment, and gutters to modern Wastewater Management systems with underground culverts network, Wastewater Treatment Plants in every Town, and more efficient garbage collection methods.
Our underground rainwater runoffs could be harnessed for filtration and recycling, just as we could manage our thrash.

We all know that national patapaa party (npp) is not a responsible party. It is a completely a lawless party. So l was surprised when akuffo addo hypocritically said 'npp is a party of rule of law'. Is it taking over public institutions by your miscreant and hooligan party members that is the rule of law? Or destruction of public property the rule of law? Is the self-acclaimed president akuffo addo's condoning and conniving with this irresponsible and dastardly act the rule of law? Or killing people you have defeated in an election that is the rule of law? Akuffo addo and kennedy agyapong are criminals. Akuffo addo illegally brought foreign terrorists to come and trained npp foot soldiers to do what they are doing now. They thought they would lose the election and cause mayhem but those trained criminals became disappointed and frustrated when President Mahama with his spirit of humility accepted defeat and therefore decided to test the potent of their concealed mischief on innocent Ghanaians to annihilate them. Patapaa akuffo addo should know that Ghanaians have rejected him 3 times because they knew he was voilent and irresponsible man but it's just because of the economic hardship and his consistent plead to Ghanaians to consider him the chance to be president that led to his emergence. Even as it stands now l can tell you that despite Mahama's defeat, Ghanaians still have sympathy for Mahama than you akuffo addo. You are just being put on probation by Ghanaians. Therefore you should know that Ghanaians are going to vote you out to your village now that you, akuffo addo and ken agyapong have started your drug addict behaviour which was the reason why Ghanaians rejected akuffo addo 3 times. In fact it has Confirmed and vindicated Ghanaians for rejecting you 3 times. And for that matter this will reinforce Ghanaians to be resolved to reject you the 4th time to avoid patapaa(akuffo addo) at 88 in the presidency.

In the middle of every year, we experience indiscriminate rainfall in our country. As part of the country need rain to boost the growth of their crops which is the only means of livelihoods, other parts always pray for the rain not to fall at all. Without rainfall in the farming areas, cash crops can't thrive because our brainless leaders don't see the importance of water canals and irrigation projects as vital within the agricultural sector. General Kutu Acheampong even though useless, started irrigation pilot project at Dawhenya, but only ended up pumping the funds meant to continue such laudable project nationwide, into the anus of school girls in exchange for VW passat golf cars. I can't imagine " PONA YAM " making such great impact on international markets. If supermarkets chains like Tescos , Morrisons and others in the UK, are promoting the sale of yams and other tropical cash crops, why can't we encourage our farmers by assisting them with the necessary logistics such as tractors, farming tools and importantly, irrigation projects as is been done in the middle east countries. Israel is a typical example. Back to the cities, rainfall is seen as the enemy to city dwellers simply because of flood. Each year, hundreds of lives are consumed by floods in the nation's capital due to poor infrastructure. Lack of proper planning is the cause of such calamitous occurrences. From our brainless politicians to our good for nothing Town & Country planning engineers, nothing concrete is been done to curb the menace of the floods which is causing havoc on people's lives. The downtrodden city dwellers who lives in the slums or mostly ghettotised, are the worst affected but I wish the floods can find their way to the flagstaff house for the occupiers to taste the sweetness of it. You can hear everyone complaining about drains but one thing we need to know is that when you have leaders whose brains are drained in terms of corruption, the result is " Floods and Infernos ".
