Many democracies in the west depend on taxes (government fiscal policy) to fund development and other government initiatives, such as education, health, and overall infrastructure. That is why in the west they say, the only sure thing in life is death and taxes. What it means is that, as long as you live you will pay taxes and you will also die one day.

Check the marginal tax rates of Scandinavia countries like Denmark and Sweden where marginal tax rate are the highest in the world; Denmark 60% and Sweden 56%. What this means is that if you live in Denmark 60% of your earnings will go into taxes, and that means for every cedi you earn you keep only 40 pesewas while 60 pesewa goes into taxes. If you live in Sweden you will pay 56% of your income in taxes and means every one cedi you earn you will only keep 44 pesewas and 56 pesewas will go to the government for various taxes. The irony in Denmark and Swedish high marginal tax system is that, these two countries top every UN measurement of good living. They are good managers of their resources.

It is not the tax cut that would boost the economy or produce development, rather it is management of our scarce resources. As long as corruption remains the bane in society and there is no inclination on the part of government to eradicate this canker, we can remove all taxes and become taxless society our living standard would remain in pits.

My question is: with the removal of these taxes, how is Akufo-Addo administration fund his very many promises. Hmmmmmmmm! Maybe he knows something I do not know. We'll see!!!

NDC, after collecting all this wicked taxes, still turned around to still from the poor man on the street. create,loot,steal and share was their main priority in govt. to the extent that,monies meant for the upkeep of widows of the Gambian massacre was shared among themselves. may God never allow this people to enjoy their loot..Nana is breath of fresh air in the lives of Ghanaians. may God help u to fulfil ur aspirations and plans for the people of Ghana.
