AGBESI, you're rather stupid! Note that for starters, the policy is to allow those who cannot afford to send their kids to SHS at all. The government could have waited until next year when they would have have improved the country's economy before starting the free SHS, but decided to start something to show its commitment to Ghanaians. For continuing students, even though it's not easy on their parents, having already been able to send them to the SHS suggests those students are better off. So with the limited finances available to the government in its first year in office, the main preoccupation is to ensure all new JHS graduates who qualify for SHS does not drop out for lack of funds so as not to add to the present number of dropouts from the past. And you in your wisdom think it's not a good effort by the government?
