THE RUMOUR IS THAT THE LANDOWNERS WON A COURT CASE AND HAVE QUICKLY SOLD THE LAND. DURING THE PRESIDENT MILLS ERA ANOTHER BUNCH OF ROGUES WITH SOME CHINESE BUILT A WALL AROUND MOST OF THIS SAME AREA. BUT WITH THE QUICK ACTION OF THE THEN GAEC CEO, THE WALL WAS BROKEN. THIS TIME THE LAND HAS BEEN DIVIDED INTO TINY PARCELS AND WALLS ARE BEING ERECTED WITH SUCH FRENZY YOU WOULD THINK THE WORLD IS ENDING TOMORROW. WHAT A LAWLESS COUNTRY. I HOPE THE PRESIDENT CAN FULFILL HIS PROMISE AND GET ONTO THE GAEC CASE AS WELL.

Encroachment started during Kufuor's admin (NPP 1). Kwadwo Mpianim wanted to convert the whole of Achimota forest into something else. So it is good news Nana (NPP 2)wants to stop it.

Correction, Achimota school’s lands were NOT acquired by ordinance by the colonial government from the Osu stool in 1921 and an amount of 4,000 pounds paid to the elders of the stool. That land belong to he Owoos of Owooman

I'm not an old Achimotan but this iconic school is a national asset and should be protected against all those short sighted traditional stool authorities and their henchmen who are only interested in selling lands in Accra and its environs. Why can't we concentrate on renewing the decrepit slum areas in the Ga traditional heartlands in central Accra instead of encroaching on all the greenlands in the capital which the Colonial authorities had the foresight to create for us? Do these people have any ideas about environmental protection??
