Even in a military government we never heard of such a backwardness,what a useless minister,when a woman was brutally assaulted and raped in public in Kumasi that Otiko woman was supporting the culprits that they cannot do anything about it if they cannot get the victim despite the strong video evidence but with this one which is not supported by any strong evidence she went to the restaurant to show she has power,to intimidate the staff there,where did that happen before,why go to the restaurant,why not invite the people.

So if Otiko lived there for some time she should have known better. As a minister she should NOT have gone to the restaurant to throw her weight about; it is not dignifying.
She could have sat in her office and invited the owners of the restaurant to come over. We are not in the jungle for ministers to be storming "ordinary" restaurants to show what power they have.
I hope this helps you to understand what Corney meant. Your abusive language does not help either.

I had visited Ghana sometime in early 2000 and went to an appliance store owned by an Indian to buy a T.V for my mum. This guy had the audacity to slap one of his Ghanaian workers because he said the worker was slow in getting the TV off the shelf. I was fuming with anger and a betrayal that this Indian store owner would do this in the presence of all of us shoppers in the store. I returned fire for fire by addressing the Indian in a manner I had never done before. I told him to hell with his store and his TV. He pleaded vigorously and apologized profusely for what he had done. But that couldn't persuade me to buy from the store. I filed a complaint with the AMC but I am not sure whether they followed up on the case. Some of the workers secretly left the store to come to tell me on my way out that the guy was notorious for treating the workers harshly and with utter disrespect and that he usually lashed out at them in an uncontrollable fashion. They hoped that what I did there on that day would probably put some sense in his warped mind to stop his bad treatment of his workers. I am sure there are laws in Ghana that provide sanctions against such wanton behavior especially when it's coming from our guests who ply their business in Ghana. Madam Otiko please go for all such miscreants in Ghana.

I wasn't a fun of Otiko but I am so glad that for once, someone has stood up for the Ghanaian. For far too long, we have been humiliated and abused by foreigners in our own country.

(1) A Ghanaian worker was with pizza at Osu by his foreigner employer.

(2) A Ghanaian worker was asked to lick sputum off the floor in Kaneshie Industrial area by an Indian.

(3) A Ghanaian worker was chained to a shipping container at the Takoradi port by his foreigner employers.

Why all these abuse of the Ghanaian in his or her own country? In our own land!!!

In some advance countries like in USA, when there's a reported police brutality and the masses stage demonstrations, the president always get in the action to condemn the act while investigation is still ongoing. One good thing about Otiko's reaction is to make the masses aware the government is in control of the matter. This has the advantage of preventing mob action. Moreover, Otiko getting involved the way she did, gives more publicity to the case which help to educate the public and serve as a deterrent for re-occurrence. If we had let just the police to handle the case, we may not be talking about it at this time since the investigation will not gain the same attention and publicity.
