I thank the MPLAYER for bringing this pressing need if not a matter of urgency to parliament. To begin with am a Voltarian and comes from one of the communities that used to depend on the the river for living.Back in the day ...

I thank the MPLAYER for bringing this pressing need if not a matter of urgency to parliament. To begin with am a Voltarian and comes from one of the communities that used to depend on the the river for living.Back in the day my uncles would go with me to fishing and in no time we come back home with lots of fish.The fun part is the the beauty of the river especially during sunset. But the menace of the aquatic weed couple with other environmental degradation has really affected the livelihood of the people.However much as there are governmental agencies tasked to oversee some of the problems, we the people would have to initiate the cleaning and then we can ask the government for assistance.But if we want the government to come in first the integrity am sorry to say it would be like a day dreaming.

First of all nobody gives a rat ass if you are a Voltarian.This is a national issue.This and many critical issues facing the nation have been neglected for years by the estwhile government so why the sudden urgency now?It looks like certain regions in the country particulaly Volta only remembers their needs and critical projects when NPP is in government.If"Voltarian"continue to behave and vote like the proverbial village team,they must not expect support from the rest of the country.

The VRA has treated residents in the Volta Basin with much disdain. There are many communities without potable water, not to talk about bilharzia infection among us. And to annoy us, the VRA has brought something it is calling scholarship, which is no where near other forms of scholaship like cocoa and oil. Is it that we do not have people to speak for us?

Thank you, Hon. Woyome for bringing the aquatic weed menace to the fore. We can no longer, drink the water, bathe in the river, commute via the river and even engage in fishing in the river. This has taken its toll on the hardworking people. Avegagorme and Adorwotorko, among other communities in Agave-Afedume area have their fair share of the menace. We are yet to see which government will give an ear to our cry.

He should thank his stars that his seat is in the Volta Region if not, he would gave been tsunamied in the last general elections. This is sycomphacy. He did nothing all his stay in parliament and now he is behaving as if NPP is our problem. The mp should accept our condolences for the death of his mother. I am his kinsman though.
