On Ghanaweb daily they are being told they are Togolese who are polluting pure and holy Ghana. People said Ghana is their own so the 'Togolese' should leave and go back to where they came from.
Since the land on which the Ewes are is theirs and was on temporary attachment to Ghana, why not break off and have their peace from the owners of Ghana?
Or now these same people are worried that if this idea should succeed, the Akosombo Dam will become a contested infrastructure?
Sometime back when the owners of Ghana, like Ken Agyapong called for the killing of Ewes, nobody saw it as a treasonous call.
Let us remember the Biblical saying that 'He who sows the wind, reaps the whirlwind'.

It seems all the German buties were united even the Eastern Germany jooned their brothers in 1990 so why not the Western Togoland? It seems the Separatists are not willong to be ruled by neither the Akans nor the Kabre people of TOGO. They want their small lanlocked Western Togo since the line is from Sogakope eastwards. The Anlo Ewes will still be part of Ghana as before. So my Akan friends must learn to accept the fact that they cannot do away with the tribe which sometimes refuses to be called Ewes even the highly educated among them referred to themselves as ANLOS and not Ewes.

The divided German Togoland territories were not to be absorbed by France and Britain into Dahomey/Benin or the Gold Coast. France obeyed the UN resolution and nurtured Eastern Togoland into Republic of Togo; Britain on the other hand, because of the site of the Akosombo Dam decided to push Western Togoland into the Gold Coast through the infamous 9th May 1956 Plebiscite. The Governor General then, Arden Clarke gave 2 million pounds out of 13 million pounds accruing revenue for Western Togoland to Kwame Nkrumah to use in bribing chiefs in Western Togoland to vote for a UNION with the Gold Coast at its independence. Kwame Nkrumah was not a Togoland Citizen; why should he and his CPP scout for votes in Western Togoland??? Release our men to us without any condition. You have already inadvertently made them heroes and given us a world platform. Mia Denyigba Lolo la !!!

I have been following this issue when it started but looks like majority of people are rubbishing what is happening. I was not there in 1956 when all that happen but one thing i can say is, if we are saying this group have been there for more than a decade we shouldnt just rubbish what they are requesting but critically look at this issue with care. Wars in other countries dont start in a day. It normally happens when one group is not happy with what is happening in a country. Is clear that upon all the votes some political parties get from volta region, the region is far behind in development. I will advise that, the government should look into this issue and find a peaceful solution after all, we are all Ghanaian.
