Here we go again .A misinformed and utterly mischievous newspaper owned by a coward of a man who hides behind people and edifices to unleash his unbridled,concocted and often vitriolic diktats against people he hardly know anything about.This is the man who allegedly embezzled student funds as a student leader and who run from battle during the Acheampong era,leaving his compatriots at the mercy of police truncheons.I take anything from this paper with more than a pinch of salt.Now the story.
The Prof. Alabi,I know and have known for many years is a very diligent man and an incorruptible personality.He has gone out of its way to explain the processes that go into a bidding process that started way back in 2016.He explained further what went into the decision to sell those properties having been certified as being sellable by the AES because they were decanted,dilapidated or uninhabitable.What else would be the basis for selling these properties?
Thirdly,it looked to me that all the usual tendering processes were adhered to and as I understand these documents are now in the domain of the incumbent government for a "review" and "consideration" before a final decision could be made.All necessary due diligence seems to have been done.To my knowledge,as at the time of writing ,these properties in question are yet to be sold.Yet,non-discerning citizens bereft of ideas,knowledge,decorum and respect to achievers go on a rant,with name-calling and casting aspersions on the good names of those who put their lives down to make a change to our derailed and still colonized psyche.How dare anybody insult Prof. Alabi or the SSNIT boss,Mr.Ernest Thompson for a job well done.
The same beleaguered newspaper erroneously and untruly said that the SSNIT boss was "sacked" because he was seen to be involved in the "rot".What "rot",who has done any "forensic "investigation into these institutions to come to such baseless conclusions?The same shameless paper went on to say that SSNIT staff were overjoyed when their boss was relieved of his post.What lies,which members of staff did the paper talk to.and what which areas of their business-a mere fabrication in an attempt to tarnish the impeccable reputations that these officers have earned over the years.How could SSNIT staff rejoice over their boss's exit when he,more than most has improved the working conditions of the staff,offered more avenues to them in terms of training and development and provided a channel for young but hard-working staff to be elevated etc.It can't be true they are rejoicing ,actually they are lamenting already about the good old days.
Another lie reported that is circulating around is that SSNIT had dubiously bought a land near the SSNIT guest house.This cannot be far from the truth.In my investigation I found that SSNIT bought the land from the vendors who possess impeccable tittle devoid of any encumbrances.And it is is not difficult for anybody who feels aggrieved by this purchase to resort to the courts for a declaration of title.Period.
So now,somebody tell me where Ghanaians get their information from and why the insults towards these men with impeccable characters and integrity.As for the newspaper concerned I would engender them to be courageous enough to issue an unequivocal apology to these gallant men they have so offended or what we have known all along will come into the public domain that the newspaper will be accorded what it really represents-mediocrity,misinformation and biased - a newspaper not worth the paper its written on-a true tabloid of a paper.
