Yesterday, I was so angry when I read that these useless NDC members in Parliament were fighting NPP that one factory one district is their useless idea. You didn't do anything to build Ghana for all. If NPP is doing what Ghanaians voted them for, you are fighting them on ideas. Do NDC has any ideas apart from looting and stealing their own country assets?

THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE TEACHER TRAINEE

The Teacher trainee is disappointed because Nana Addo /Bawumia government have deceived them. The Nana Addo/ Bawumia government promised to restore the allowance of the Teacher Trainees. Truly to their words the Teacher training allowance has been restored.

The question on the lips of the Teacher trainee is how much he /she will take home after all deductions have been made. Depending on the college, the Teacher trainee enjoyed an amount between GHc (52 – 55) per month under the government of President Kuffour. Professor Mills increased the amount to GHc 270.00 and before the removal/cancellation of the allowance the Teacher Trainee was taking home an amount between GHc (415 – 420) per month under the government of Mahama.

On 2nd March, 2017, the 2017 budget titled ‘Sowing the Seeds for Growth and Jobs’ was presented to the Parliament of Ghana by Ken Ofori – Atta the Finance Minister.

Paragraph 595 and Appendix 6 item 6b of the budget provides information on the number of students, number of Colleges of Education, feeding grants under President Mahama for 2016 and the total amount for the restoration.

Mahama/Amissah – Arthur government after removing/cancelling the allowance cushioned the Teacher trainees. The Feeding grant for 2016 was GHc 50,530,000.00 for 43,570 students for two semesters (4months in a semester). It implies the Teacher trainee received an amount of GHc 144.97 per month. This means President Mahama after removing the allowance was cushioning the Teacher Trainee with an amount of GHc 145.00 per month.

The amount for restoration for 2017 is GHc 103,124,102.00 for 43,570 students in a year. It implies the Teacher Trainee will receive an amount of GHc 197.24 . This means the Nana Addo/Bawumia government after restoring the allowance is giving the Teacher Trainee an amount of GHc 198.00 per month.

THE DISAPPOINTMENT

*Before the removal allowance the Teacher Trainee was receiving GHc 420.00 and after restoration the Teacher Trainee will receive GHc 197.00 per month.

*The difference is GHc 222.00 less than the amount before cancellation.

* President Mahama after deducting an amount of GHc 145 from GHc 420.00 will leave the Teacher Trainee with an amount of GHc 275.00 to pay for other expenses after feeding.

* President Nana Addo after deducting an amount of GHc 145 from GHc 198.00 will leave the Teacher Trainee with an amount of GHc 53.00 to pay for other expenses after feeding.

* The Mahama government promised to pay a feeding fee of GHc 200.00 for 2017. This will have been more than the restoration amount of GHc 198.00 by GHc 2.00

This is the disappoint of the Teacher Trainee after being promised of the restoration of allowance.

That amount is $100 million dollars. The Mahama NDC stealing alone in just these 7 MDA's would finance about half of the number of condtituencies under the NPP policy initiative of $1 million dollars for each constituency.
