Commander Yeboah understands that road blocks are just excuses used by some Police Officers to surreptiouly harass drivers for bribes. The police must aid with unrestricted traffic flow not cause unnecessary delays with unauthorized road blocks. Now if a driver was stopped for an infringement or an accident then the officer may ask for the required documentation. The Police have enough on their hands enforcing traffic laws which directly affect road safety and must focus on that.

Absolutely the correct approach to stop extortion. There is a short Police Man who is there with his vehicle and 2 other Policemen in a Police Pick up just after the Ashiaman toll booth on the Tema motorway. Their job is to just keep stopping vehicles for no reason just after vehicles pass the toll booth and just to try and find reasons for extorting money. They are there even almost every Sunday and have been doing this for the last one year. Who ever is incharge in that Area must be aware of this group and if not must check what is going on.

Mk l think your thinking is very shallow. NPP is not going to repeat the same methods which were not working for us and which has drawn us back. Most passengers are delayed in their business and workers are also late to their duties just because of these unwanted checks. Registration, Insurance and license would be checked when the needs come esp when one violated driving rules, when there's an accident. It's uncalled for just to routinely stop communes just to chekthose is useless, it affects the nations economy and encourages corruption.

let the National insurance commission publish year by year the insurance cover paid to beneficiaries,
as compared to the number of accidents that had happened in the country.
they paid nothing.
in the insurance schemes and laws , any accident is considered as that and is due to be paid insurances.
that is why the vehicle is insured, and the companies must be forced to comply with the regulations without any delay but they dont pay so why should i pay for the insurance, either thirdparty or full cost recovery ?
in eurpe for example ,every vehicle had claim note certificate in their vehicle for minor collusion - they just filled the form and sign it, sometimes with pictures and forward it to the insurance company to pay for the damages , it is mostly whenever there is death reported case that had to go to court, and all the affected people would be paid by the insurance company,
what do we see in ghana , the police is always chasing the drivers and left the companies , without forcing the law for them to pay to the affected persons or damages.

Is the Ghana ???????? police service saying they cant check and control activities of their own people? Even Kenya ???????? at a point find a why of arresting police officers who exploited motorist. Are they saying they are not ready to arrest and punish officers who take bribes? If we can not stop the corruption in our security agencies, then we have lost the battle in fighting corruption before it even starts. They must go on with checking the insurance and drivers license but they mustn't take anything from the drivers for doing that cos that's what they are paid by the government to do.
