Rape punishments in the country are too lenient. They are not deterring the perpetrators. Everyday we hear of girls and children who have been traumatised and injured by wicked men. Short of locking all men up in the cages they belong in, we should make rape punishments harsh enough to stick and send clear signals. We cant keep destroying our girls. Without them it will take us 10 times longer to get where we want to go as a society and a nation.

So because the poor family could not afford the fee required for the medical test , this poor girl will have no defense . This is case for the so called Gender ministry to take up and make sure those involved are punished severely . Why can't the gender ministry re- locate the victim and provide psychological counseling for her . If the gender ministry can't seek reprieve for victims of such cases , then it's existence is not worth it .
