This is what it has come to when even a stark illiterate is allowed to form a political party with the aim of becoming President of Ghana! As for me and my house, it is the epitome of the dedifferentiation (Tilly and Others) whites have been talking about occurred in Africa after decolonisation.

We have Masters and PhD holders reading through our campaign materials for the adoption of the Production Sharing Agreement for Ghana and frankly admitting that they could not understand and/or give informed opinion because the field isn't their area of specialisation. What and how can anyone expect these stark and semi-illiterates to read and say on those complex issues???

What a pity! And that's the best person the NPP people got to stand for them in the Akwatia Constituency?

Interesting country who is always begging like the beggars we see on our streets and despise. This is how the Western world also see Ghana and many African countries. As a country who are not prepared to be innovative and pusher but lazy bones handme out lot. Ghanaians are looking down on this bold woman to be admired by all her critics. She would change Akwatia because the people of Akwatia believed in her even though she never completed her education. What did they see that the rest didn't? Boldness and fearless individual. She needs to fight for e-libraries in all the towns around her constituency, have a museum which Akwatia does not have and ensure you have lots of public toilets and increase the tourism in the area.

TO THOSE WHO ARE FIDING IT DIFFICULT TO THINK IN BROADER PERSPECTIVES ARE THEY SAYING THAT ANY INTELLIGENT PERSON WITHOUT THE PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO TEACH IN OUR SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, TRAINING ESTABLISHMENTS, ESTABLISHENTS WHERE TEY NEED ENGLISH TO EXPLAIN THINGS OR DEAL WITH QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM THE PUBLIC? ARE THEY THEREFORE SAYING WITHOUT WITH JUST OUR LOCAL LANGUAGES ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO REPRESENT GHANA AT OUR EMBASSIES AND HIGH COMMISSIONS ETC?. IT IS GOOD TO SPEAK OUR LOCAL LANGUAGE BUT IT BECOMES INEFFECTIVE IF WE NEED TO REPRESENT OUR PEOPLE IN PARLIAMENT WHERE WE HAVE MANY INDIGENS WHO SPEAK DIFFERENT LANGUAGES BUT DON'T UNDERSTAND ALL THE LNGUAGES AND THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH. IT WOULD HAVE BE OK IF SAY IN THE AKWATIA MP'S SITUATION AKAN WAS THE OFFICIAL SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN OUR PARLIAMENT INSTEAD OF ENGLISH. THE PEOPLE OF AKWATIA HAS DONE A DISERVICE TO THEIR MP AND A SERIOUS COCNTEMP TO GHANA. THEY HAVE UNDERESTIMATED THE SERIOUS DUTIES OF A LEGISLATOR AND THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. Once you understand a conversation and can communicate your views, even in any local dialect (language), that should be fine. Never mind at all, for many of the "english" language written and spoken by many (even by/from our reporters, in both print and electronic media) are grammatically poor.

There are many who claim to have acquired higher education than Ama Sey, who are unable to make any sense - when they write or talk.

Please, leave Ama Sey alone; rather those who can help her improve MUST do so, so that she can become successful and more useful to our nation, by her present position.

Ama Sey, stay confident and be encouraged that there are many who appreciate you. You do not need anybody's approval to be successful in life. The constitution for the Fourth Republic was drawn by Makola women and farmers and now the educated are using it to run the country. How many of those Makola women and farmers who drew the constitution can tell the difference between come and go in the english language? We have bought into everything good or bad. Ghanaians now speak English with their kids and the kids cannot say one word their local language.
Madam MP, I am very happy for you and do not let the English language intimidate you. You are going to be fine and all you have to do is continue to develop yourself, in a short while these shallow minded critics will be put to shame. Kudos, Honorable.
