It is the responsibility of the police to wipe out armed robbery. If we let the soldiers in, we will be seen by outside nations as Ghana having police state and that will even scare away foreigners and investors the more. The ...

It is the responsibility of the police to wipe out armed robbery. If we let the soldiers in, we will be seen by outside nations as Ghana having police state and that will even scare away foreigners and investors the more. The best thing is to increase the numbers of trained police who should eschew corruption and be more professional. They should patrol every night and day in prone armed robbery areas. In addition, they should be well equipped with logistics including patrol vehicles and weapons. CCTV will also help and we hope this popular government will do something to eradicate this menace.

Lets cast our minds back to Ahsaiman some years back was no go zone. The place was full of notorious armed robbers but when the commandos were given the task to clean them and make it a better place worth living, it is now a place worth living but due to laxity of security, the town is still now harboring sizable pockets of robbers and criminals.Our armed soldiers should clean this menace before it is too lat. They should be deployed incommunicado.
