Brothers and Sisters I am not sure if President Mugabe a true believer of Nkrumah really said this.I think he was misquoted.Because Nkrumaism is far from dead.We only need selfless,devoted and farsighted leaders to revive the CPP.Nkrumah was a visionary beyond compare a unifier and great organiser.All that Nkrumah was is missing in the current generation of leaders.This is the challenge of the CPP today we need unity and new leadership to take us on the right path.CPP is suffering from a leadership vacuum it is a pity the worse among them is Samia who is a blood daugther of the Osagyefo.I travelled from Europe some few years back just to visit Samia to advise her not to push Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum away from the party.Samias behaviour that day at her Labone home has put me off since.Samia,Greenstreet,Dele,Akosa are all spent forces and divisive.The CPP needs new devoted,selfless,unifiers,organisers,visionary,ddyabnmic and honest leaders like Nkrumah was.The CPP is only suffering from the vacuum of good leadership.We need inspiring,motivational and examplary leadership now.FORWARD EVER.

These latter day Nkrumahists are only using Kwame Nkrumah's name to further their own narrow political ends. Nkrumah means nothing to them, nor to the millions of today's jobless youth!

He wrote the 1960 constitution for himself (and subsequently made himself life president) thus telling the entire CPP that no one was good enough to be his successor and this stifled individual development

He was life president (and thus presidential candidate for life), general secretary, and chairman of the central committee. He also destroyed party democracy because by 1965 he was selecting MPs

Organizations that are very big tend to die slowly. Like a firm that is in financial trouble it goes bankrupt gradually

Since the 1966 coup the Nkrumahists have become increasingly irrelevant. By 1979 they could not one elections with just one round. By 1992 they had fragmented and a lot of them had gone to join the NDC - which, surprisingly, was formed by Jerry Rawlings who in public said Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka was a hero!

On the other hand the Danquah--Busia tradition has grown stronger by the day, resulting in the stunning victory of 2016

One thing is certain about that tradition - there has never been a shortage of qualified leaders and this is a result of strong party structures and a rejection of big man power politics within their ranks

CPP died several years ago and there is no way it can be revived as a viable political party except they merge to become one political party under the "so called" Nkrumahist (his ideals which I consider archaic. Ideas which were proposed in the 1960"s was relevance does it have in modern day politics. That is why it does not make sense for one to pride himself that "I am an Nkrumahist". At the time Kwame Nkrumah was President of Ghana the population of Ghana was about 6-10 million. Now we are over 27 million. His ideas then was based on the grown of at the time and we have overgrown that so his ideas are of no use in modern day politics. I do not agree with Mugabe for his prediction the death of CPP, it is already dead.

The few ideals of Nkrumah that can be beneficial to Ghana are not being projected enough because the supposed Nkrumahists are disintegrated. Very soon Nkrumahism will exist only in history books and perhaps in very few people's minds.
