If indeed he has been a career educationist and never did anything to fix the poorly equipped labs for all these years as vocal as he seems to be, then l suggest that he doesn't need to be where he is now. It would've made sense if he'd made a reference in hindsight and insisted on what he'd said before.That would've made his statement worthwhile. What quality of education is this provost talking about ? I mean what has he done or contributed towards fixing the problem of the failing schools all over Ghana?and the falling educational standards.? The recently published studies that placed Ghanaians in the distant fifth position behind countries like Kenya, Botswana, South Africa etc in terms of our oratory standards in the English language came about as a result of the free SSH program right? Let me ask this book long provost what did he do to avert this humiliation that has engulfed our educational standards?

It's not about just pushing people through the system but rather having an educated people who are useful to the development of the country. That is not true. Getting a degree in medicine does not necessarily make one educated. I have followed the utterances of this SMS-trained doctor and I must say that he must be the first person Nana Addo needs to get rid of if he wants to be successful. Arrogance is a great part of the fall of the NDC and he needs to learn fast if he is capable of learning.

Even the students for whom policy is geared to ensure they have quality education know that without the suggestions made by the VC, such as stocking of libraries, equipment for schools i.e. science departments etc, etc, they would be handicapped. The kids know these things so what is Bature talking about and where is the schooling?
This NPP gov't is one that has shown enough commitment towards education in the past under the Kufuor administration and proposes to make quality education and access with the Teacher at the center of the program together with parents more robust and productive so where paaaaaa is the schooling???
The NDC party should find sensible human beings to engage because this Bature kind of utterances is quite needless when deep analysis of the issues are brought to the debate. NDC must get serious.

Napo incompetent and arrogant in the education ministry. Can Bawumia recognize incompetence in his government? Bawumia is an economist and knows the law of diminishing returns. 110 ministers will achieve very little and he won't advice Nana when he was doing the appointment. Bad things are happening too early. Bawunia will be hunted by the word incompetent for the next 4 years

We all know you are a veey BIG ndc man but I thank you for coming out of your Van Rip slumber to talk on QUALITY EDUCATION and to caution NAPO. I don't begrudge you in any way. You are 100% right for some of my 2nd and 3rd year University students can't even read. They don't even know the tenses and speak English by heart. I teach French and have to start my teaching from 'Known' to 'Unknown' and my problems compound when it comes to 'Perfect tenses" of Passé composé and its siblings.

Gov't would do well to listen to educationists. Free education is not a priority for the system. There has been no clamour for it by the people. Its implementation will deprive schools of much-needed funds for capital investment, unless gov't can make up the loss of revenue from school fees.

This is a lame idea. Since nkrumah's time, no government has been able to finish equipping or resourcing schools and the Npp will not be different. In fact, if a government wants to finish resourcing schools before introducing free shs, then the free shs will never see the light of day!!
