WE SAY: We've argued along the same lines. That critique jives with the other one about quality and facilities.

It does not make sense! As such, we agree with Economics Professor, Peter Quartey.

We must add that the "Free SHS" policy, the ways it has been promoted, is simply depraved patronization, for political benefits.

I would rather like see more investments in science and computer labs in all the schools,national research facilities to engage post graduate engineers and scientists. There's so much gain from quality than quantity.

If SHS is free, then it must be free for all publicly funded Senior High Schools. Achimota School, Wesley Girls, Prempeh College should not be schools for the rich. I went to Prempeh College many, many, many years ago but my parents were certainly NOT rich. We should rather think about a quota admission system for kids from under-priviledged Junior High Schools to go to schools like Achimota and the like. You don't have to be rich to gain admission to Achimota. You only have to be smart. Being rich is not always equal to being smart unless your parents "buy your way"

Yet they turn round to insult the cocoa farmer's children for being uneducated yet the cocoa farmer paid for their free education! Nonsense to the highest level! God bless Nana Addo and Npp for correcting the historical injustice done to southerners especially Akans in general and asantes in particular! Free SHS for all!

In Ghana there is no school considered grade A school,no school is officially listed by GES as grade A school which they should use to determine who gets free education.
The free education should cover every school, the only thing that should not be covered is a boarding school,including boarding in the program is a recipe for disaster,boarding should remain a privilege,those who chose to be in boarding houses should pay for it.
If we cannot have all the students in the boarding houses as it is largely in the north then those who choose to be in boarding houses must pay for it.
If boarding houses are free everyone will like to be there which will corrupt the system,Headteachers will become too powerful taking bribe from the rich to have their kids in the boarding houses.

To be on political campaign platforms to make promises is different from implementing them,the free SHS education program by Nana Ado government is now having "the doubting Thomas" in the minds of the people especially about its success,this is only one of the numerous promises he made,the rest are yet to be rolled out,the one district one factory,the one village one dam,the $1million district funds are yet to be rolled out,"eh! akoayi te asemso" during the campaign period,my observations was exactly what we are now seeing about how all such promises are going to be met?Nana Ado gave some of these promises because of the Heritage fund but had a shock in his life that the funds is a no go area,taxes which supposed to be a backup income for an economy generating system also Nana Ado promised to slash them so where is the money coming from to feed all the promises?"promise and fail is s crime itself so would Nana Ado go into borrowing if the situation becomes tough and if he goes borrowing from international markets then how logic would it be and fair to the NDC government of president Mahama often been accused of extensive borrowing?Let us wait and see Nana Ado and his magic wonders!

If existing students leave under poor conditions why didn't you advice Mahama to concentrate there when he started his progressively free education. Bring on board ideas that will sustain the policy instead of just criticizing and wishing dooom for it
