Government must abolish matrilineal inheritance among the Akans. How come children hail from the hometowns of their mothers, but not their fathers? If your father is a Chief or a King, you can't inherit him, but rather his nephew can inherit him. Due to this, most Akan men do not take care of their childre. They don't see the need to spend money on their children when, in reality, those children belong to their mothers. If Akans are wise, as they claim, then how do they justify this? The Bible supports patrilineal inheritance. So as an Akan, who is a Christian and who lives according to the word of God, I practice patrilineal inheritance.
