  our politicians and chiefs have the singular responsibility to lead with wisdom.What good is it if you dont have life to enjoy your wealth.
  Water is life and wealth.
  its only that person who will fetch water with a basket and not Gold.

  I visited Oda recently and was surprised by the color of the river which for sure can't be used for anything. THIS GALAMSAY ISSUE MUST STOP ELSE GHANAIANS WOULD SOON DIE OF THIRST

  This galamsey thing, can't Nana just issue orders for their arrest, prosecution and jail term by BNI, police and military men? Should Chinese and some evil indigenes continue to destroy the forest and waterbodies, finish it before we act, haaba? Every river in this country has been destroyed under our watch as a nation mostly by NDC and its previous governance. We are in power now and are quite to see the lands being destroyed too under our watch at the detriment of not too distant future? Why should some people take advantage on the masses to import water into the country and reel in undesirable sales while we have good waterbodies to drink from but destroying our waters? Should it be that? I have travelled in many parts of the country particular in the south. It is just an eyesore how the forests zone is being destroyed especially the largest forest in Ghana at a village called Asumura near Goaso stretching to Cote D'voire border in Bono Ahafo Region has been destroyed. Water bodies dried up abruptly to the extend of farmers sending sachet water to their farms! It just a shame!
  
  We said we want to plant for food and jobs, but the very forest environment which assist in crop plantation, growth and production are being destroyed. Galamseyers are destroying this particular lands we claim to use as agricultural production" planting for food and jobs" and poisoning them which will consequently affect the food crops we plant, produce and eat. In effect, our numerous health problems which shouldn't be because we have a good land to plant and eat the best of natural foods than to import food or plant but suffer unknown diseases because of food poisoning from plantation, harvesting to it's consumption. NDC are cabal of thieves and we are here to correct the mess of our dear nation and these evil activities NDC superintendent over. Ghanaians voted for us to redeem, we have been quite after being in government for almost 3months but have done nothing about it.
  
  We must act right now to redeem these water bodies for our own good. We need potable water to drink always and food for our livelihood. If these waters are being destroyed, we are in power now and doing nothing about it, won't it be additional cost on the purse we want to protect by importing water very soon into the country? Are we still not going to import food into the country as Mahama and NDC did while we have the best of land for food crop plantation and production?
  
  The forest and water bodies act as a good source of causing regular rains on our tropical lands to help in our daily activities and livelihood. As at 1945, Ghana had 8.4million hectares of rich natural forests. As at now, it has reduced to just 500thousand and rapidly going down because of illegal cutting of timber logs from the forests and galamsey activities. As a tropical zone, constant and regular rains have refused to fall in its due seasons every year continuously for over 3years because of all these things.
  
  Should we kill ourselves from our known negligence and desperate connivance as there are leaders to see to the welfare of this? Why should foreigners like the Chinese take advantage on us because of some selfish peoples underhand dealings? Should they destroy our resources, take our gold away and we suffer for it in hunger, taste and diseases? After 60years as republic, do we have leaders at all in Ghana and Africa as a whole? We are our own enemies as a nation. Greed, selfishness, wickedness and "let France burn" attitude will take us to no where but destroy us all one day.

  The King of Kibi is a major financier and beneficiary of galamsey. Even some of his own subjects stood up against him for it but were silenced with threats.

  ....the only option for governance/good Government is to give them back their sovereignty by converting the National and regional Houses of Chiefs into an upper House of Parliament as the British did in their own country while the colonial governor used the right to gazette as a tool for indirect rule!

How greedy are these chief who just rule over their people without care for how they feed themselves let alone this precious water. God save us.

  I agree with you they even hold key for our future as well. They are selfish they don't think about our future at all. Look how they are selling our land without government agreement between them and buyer.

  It is a shock that the whole world have moved away from "chieftaincy" and have found better ways to manage their resources, even some African countries have done so(Tanzania, Ethiopia, Lybia, all of north Africa, etc. What is wrong with our thinking? We do not want change, the same old primitive traditions. Traditions must be cherished but change that can bring progress must be welcomed.
  Our water bodies have died and no one is responsible for that because the chiefs are above the law. I'm not cursing U but U will remain 3rd world till thy kingdom come.
