One of the objectives football is to ensure social cohesion , integration and foster unity among people with varied back ground. However, religion is about brother hood .

The interest in local football (even our beloved Black Stars) is waning. Interestingly, the interest in foreign football does not appear to be waning. Wonder why? Partly because of our taste for foreign things. However, I think that a huge part of that is the poor organisation and officiating of football in Ghana. And the corruption!- both real and perceived.
Let's address those things and you wouldn't need churches and mosques to create football teams.

Have actual grass on the playing fields? Stop the corruption? Honor contracts? Run as a actual business? Negotiate better MEDIA contracts? Study other successful leagues and adapt? Learn? Progress? Unless the churches don't understand their call then they involve themselves in football. Churches are to preach the gospel to the lost and corrupt souls but no to promote football
