In one of his speeches he acknowledged it. Ghanaians should be honest and let the true history of the land prevail. After all, his political party he founded is on the verge of extinct, whilst that of the opposition is blooming. This is because there are opportunists clouding the minds of ignorant citizens who eventually get confused and fail to carry on the genuine principles of his vision. Agreed he led Ghana to independence, but did not found Ghana single handed.

The struggle for self rule started before Nkrumah was invited to assist. History has it that JB Danquah had to foot the cost of his journey home. He came and there ensued a dis agreement. He left the group and formed his own party and won the elections that finally urshered us to independence. Does this make him the sole founder? No. The struggle had started by some people. He was only invited to join. What about the other members of the big 6 who went to London to talk to the Queen for our indeendence? Did they not play a part?

You demonstrate unbelievable ignorance. I was a Young Pioneer, and I was taught that Nkrumah never dies. Surely, his legacy will endure. However I disagree that he was the sole founder of Ghana. The history of Ghana will be rewritten in order to put the records straight and there's not much that this Nkrumah fellow can do about that. Insulting someone who holds a contrary view isn't a characteristic of an academic. It's an indication of frustration, because the party upon which this Nkrumah character stands, CPP, is on the brink of extinction. Without political power, what can any organisation or person do, to stand in the way of change, except to rant and rave, and of course insult?

Ghana's independence story cannot be complete without the mention of the real architects which included J.B. Danquah and others stalwarts in Ghana's politics. Nkrumah did his part; he started off well but by the time he was deposed, Ghana's economy was in crisis due to reckless handling by his govt.

Series of events have been ongoing before the introduction of Nkrumah to political landscape.

Prior to that he was falling over in Britain as a Pan-African and had no mind coming to the Gold Coast then. The work that brought him was not his efforts.

The United Gold Coast Convention was a political party whose aim was to bring about Ghanaian independence from British rule after the Second World War.

Native African merchants were, in the 1940s, ready to finance the organization of a political movement to assure their commercial interests. The party was founded by J. B. Danquah in 1946 as a combination of chiefs, academics and lawyers.

For example whilst JB and co wanted a disunited gold coast Paa Grant wanted a united Gold Coast without tribal label comprising all the province. No wonder we did not hear about Paa Grant again in the UGCC because he came to understand the diabolic agenda of JB and co.So Grant recused himself.

Nkrumah was well known in the global scene as the "up-heaver" of Pan African-ism ( some foremost presidents in nigeria and kenya attest to that). Nkrumah was already profiled by the CIA and MI5 long long ago... Nkrumah was already well known to have started the decolonization of Africa esp Ghana whilst he was in the states and the UK. eventually, Nkrumah would have arrived in Ghana sooner or later whether he was invited by UGCC or not.

What is striking is that Ako Adjei having head of his prowess suggested to the other members. Favorably, Paa Grant having incline of the fact that Nkrumah was one of his own (Nzema) agreed to pay for his immediate return (but he Grant did that in the name of UGCC).

So you see based on your reasoning, Ako Adjei, JB Danquah were all called to come and form an already started movement by Paa Grant. In that case it does not matter whether someone was invited or not but rather the input of the individual that counts.
And it is only Nkrumah who meets the criteria - he stands tall above his fellows.

Annoyingly, JB and co did not want independence for Gold Coast for that matter the name Ghana to be imposed on the Gold Coast. What an iron, the same people who rejected the name ghana and the independent Gold Coast now claim they are the key pioneers of it - that JB Danquah (who plagiarised the work of others on the link of the inhabitant of gold coast particularly akans to the ancient ghana empire) has convinced himself....

Note the idea that gold coast inhabitants esp akans come from ancient ghana was a common knowledge among the many tribes but was only oral history not written history (of course there were other written researches on the topic long before JB came into the scene)...

Nkrumah did not need to be lectured about his root. So JB Danquah becomes an imposter and a plagiarist to for claim himself as the sole source and originator of the "Ghana Empire Link".
