JB Danquah formed the UGCC to fight for independence but he did not complete it. He was compromised along the way taking bribes from the CIA giving the task of aborting the independence struggle. After Nkrumah fought to attain independence he and and his co-traitor, Busia went to the Queen to press for annulment of the independence.
When he failed, he wreaked violence on Ghanaians under his Matemeho campaiign of secession of parts of Ghana. Many innocent Ghanaians were killed in the process.

When we look at the picture of the podium on which Nkrumah declared independence, do we see JB Danquah? Akuffo Addo should answer this question. JB Danquah was a corrupt politician who was only interested in taking bribes and amassing wealth, like many politicians who hail from his part of Ghana.

We must pay unflinching tribute to those that sat for the first time bringing the idea of independence. This is the only way we can eliminate jealousy and back bitten because credit will be given to all irrespective of what stage you can to assist.

tribes that voluntarily invited the British,ie to be part of the colony, to be a Protectorate. The colony extended only 100 miles to the Prah River at one point, the rest came in as Protectorates not all through conquest.

Founded means he created Ghana, the name Ghana is a legal fiction. Political leader at the time of independence, yes!

Ex President Mahama must define the word 'founded'. If he is using Jesus Christ as an example in his defence that Kwame Nkrumah founded Ghana, he must note that it is God who created the world and sent His Son to redeem the world. The 'Big five' made up of J.B. Dankwah and colleagues invited Kwame Nkrumah to come home when he was studying abroad to join the 'Big five'. After Nkrumah had joined them, we had the 'Big six'. The 'Big five' founded the Gold Coast Convention through which they were negotiating with the whites to hand over power to them (the United Party, UP). The struggle for independence had lasted for nearly one hundred years. It wasn't Kwame Nkrumah who led the struggle. John Mahama must study the history of Gold Coast very well. I have observed that any person who does not originate from the Akan tribe would not accept these facts, because mostly some other tribes don't like to hear that the 'Big Five' all were Akans.
