The new COCOBOD Chair said the fact that the salary of the COCOBOD Chief Executive Officer DWARFED the President’s salary was problematic given that “at the end of the day, we have to be able to say that the work that is being done is getting reasonable levels of remuneration commensurate with the work that they do, and also within the context of the Ghanaian economy.”

The fact that COCOBOD is not even making profits also compounds the issue and makes the cuts necessary, according to Mr. Owusu-Agyeman.

“If they were making profits, it would have been a different story, but in the last three to five years, there has been deficit upon deficit. If you are making no profit and we begin to say we want to discipline and trim down expense and what have you, then you have to look at the whole thing.”
State Institution CEOs are not paid on the same basis as the CEOs of Private Institutions. Your Akpaloo is as clueless and a thief like your John Mahama.

MTN, Vodafone, and Stanchart are foreign companies that are profit making institutions and therefore needs to pay their CEOs good salary to help run their firm to generate adequate returns for their respective companies. COCOABOD is a state institution and not run as a profit making institution but rather there to help our farmers producing the crop, cocoa which they cannot directly sell to the international community. Can the CEO of cocoabod tell the nation how much profit it made last year? Cocoabod rather take a loan each year against an estimated revenue its expected to get from the output of the year but pays far less to the producers which is the poor farmers

The CEOs of Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Sancor etc are paid over $ 2 million in bonuses per anum. Their take-home pay are in high 6 figures per anum. It's time Ghanaians embraced reality than being petty. People should be rewarded for their academic excellence just as it is everywhere around the world. To fight corruption, every CEO or heads of state institutions and corporations need to be held accountable. Govt should be bold and punish corrupt leaders and civil servants and reward those who are honest and hard working.

The western education has not help him much. We educate ourselves to be able to apply the knowledge to make informed decisions pertaining to problems we face. By Apaloo's assertion he has failed. People who run such organisations are upright, performance oriented managers . They make money for company and country. Theirs are not like cockroach infected minds of Opuni and co. They are the people who are worth the money they earn.
