Banks chief executives officers re been paid a whooping sum between GHs 40k - GHs 80k . But becos most of their activities re private , it becomes difficult to see in the public domain .
Typical example is CEO of HFC bank(Robert Le hunte) with head office located at ridge always take a monthly salary of GHs 60k as an expatriate. CEO of GCB salary GHs 59k, CEO of ADB salary GHs 60k, CEO of ZENITH BANK GHS 44k , CEO UT bank GHs 22k, CEO UMB GHs 32k , CEO Ecobank 50k , CEO Barclays bank ( akyianu) GHs 34k , CEO Airtel 49k and so on .
So imagine this goes into the pocket of individual handling private institutions ( maximize shareholders ) excluding their other perks.
Nkrumah once said " work and happiness " so will entreat all those making accusation about COCOBOD CEO to cease fire and rather look for better opportunities to make their money not to criticize others . " the rich will continue to be richer and the poor will continue to be poorer " unless u make a choice as to where u want to be . I rest my case .

Afterall they had always bought cocoa and paid for it over the years without any problems; or is that this man is trying to say that the monies were squandered between the period the elections were held and the time the NPP took over? Yes, I agree that the salaries of the top executives were too high, but I believe that this was contained in their conditions of service. The Governor of the Bank of Ghana earns a monthly gross salary of 89 thousand cedis; What about that? Let's handle such issues dispassionately and use legal means, including negotiations to resolve them as a nation instead of looking at everything with political lenses just to gain cheap political advantage. I hope that Mr Owusu Agyemang will in the next few months tell the whole of Ghana how much he and his board take as allowances. We will be anxiously waiting for him and other NPP chief executives and board members to reveal their salaries and allowances so that we can measure the level of their patriotism and sincerity.

However, when it comes to public-sector entities in Ghana, such as the COCBOD, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang is perfectly right to be outraged by and make public the COCOBOD's CEO astonishing monthly pay.

My family has farmed cocoa in parts of the Eastern Region since 1919 from the colonial era.

Our pesticide-free cocoa plantation was destroyed just before the December 2106 elections by the assigns of a company called Hagnella Mining Company Limited - backed by evil people in the previous administration.

I wrote to the COCOBOD suggesting they fund the Centre for public Interest Law (CEPIL) to fight compensation cases in the law courts for all cocoa farmers whose farms had been destroyed unlawfully by illegal gold miners - because Dr. Opuni declared war publicly on illegal gold miners destroying cocoa farms unlawfully.

Knowing how much cocoa farmers are being exploited by the top brass of the COCOBOD, who are being paid such obscene sums in monthly salaries, makes me more determined to force the COCOBOD to fund compensation claims in court cases for all cocoa farmers in Ghana whose farms are unlawfully destroyed by illegal gold miners.

It will be a far better use of the money the COCOBOD makes from our sweat and hard-earned moneis invested in the cocoa farms that produce the exported cocoa beans that are Mother Ghana's lifeblood. Kudos to Hackman Owusu-Agyemang. That was an act of patriotism. No more no less.

But here is a case, the farmer is earning less for all that work, the state is earning less for the produce and even what is earned, it is stolen through dubious actions plus this huge salary for the CEO.
