'Right Spirit' alone cannot guarantee Akufo-Addo's success in fixing Ghana, he must also have the knowledge and mental acuity to do so effectively. Who in Ghana had the 'right spirit' more than Jerry John Rawlings, the man who staged two successful coups and for almost 20 years preached probity and accountability; and brought Kwesi Botchwey, Tsikata the wiz kid, PV Obeng and the rest to transform the country but ended up running the country into the ground.

As I have always maintained in this website, no Ghanaian leader born and raised in Ghana with limited foreign exposure has the brains or mental acuity to transform the country. The local stock of leaders in the country are too limited in cognitive perspective to make an impact in peoples lives. Akufo-Addo is all talk; just rhetoric but no substance. So was JJ Rawlings full of rhetoric and no susbstance.

Nation building is for intelligent people - leaders who use their brains but not dumb people. Since independence the only leaders who made tremendous transformation of our country were Nkrumah and Busia. These two men lived extensively in abroad before coming home to lead. Depending on locally bred leaders to transform the country is an exercise in futility - it will never happen.
