  The deputy minister designate for the Finance Ministry is a man who knows his job inside out. He has deep knowledge of the goings-on in the ministry, long before who was slated for the position. It would be recalled, Kwaku Kwarteng successfully prosecuted a matter in the law courts, concerning what he claimed, was an excess charge the government of the Ndc, had wrongly imposed on Ghanaians. It had to do with the pricing of petroleum products. He did this as a lone ranger and for the public good. This was the time of the late President Mills administration. In the end, judgement was given in favour of Honorable Kwaku Kwarteng, MP for Obuasi. The judge ruled that yes indeed, the government of Ghana was charging wrongly, Ghc 1.00 per liter on petroleum products, at the pump. And consequently ordered, the amount of the excess charge which had accrued to
  Ghc 48 million, be paid to the treasury. Whether the ruling was respected by the Ndc government and the amount consequently paid, may be a matter of an audit. Hon, Kwaku Kwarteng is a valued MP and will be an asset at the Finance Ministry.
