He never promised to build new boarding facilities ok, he said it explicitly that those students in the existing boarding facilities will enjoy it freely and those in the day schools will enjoy free a lunch. We have the same system in the US. Don't compare our abilities to make things with the Europeans because if we Africans with our abundant natural resources take prudent steps to develop our economies, we shall experience such an unprecedented development that will shift the next civilization and industrial revolution back to Africa after more than 10,000 years in the wilderness. After all we Ghanaians first implemented the Free Universal Health Insurance before US passed that law and trust me, there nothing that suggests that the US health insurance program is perfect ok?. Just like any new system the Americans are still struggling with the implementations, nevertheless they know that eventually they can bring it to the impeccable standard. So just give credit to the Kuffour Administration for making it possible for us to be the first country on the West African sub region and the fifth on the whole continent of Africa to enjoy that privilege. After all your Mahama in one of his speeches said that "we have to admit that we can never be like the Americans and the Europeans so we should appreciate what we have". To my understanding, that was an admission of a failure. China was a poor and undeveloped country just 40 to 60 years ago, the Chinese depended on the paddy field rice cultivation at that time as the source of their foreign exchange earnings. If today after less than half a century, China has become the second biggest economy in the world without the abundance of natural resources that we have in our country, why can't we aim higher than the Chinese.

  The story leave more questions than answers. When did school authorities noticed the students were sick and what did they do? When they called the parents and reported did they come and what happened? Where did the pass on and what was the cause? I think the Minister for Education should set up a committee to look into the matter so that culprits if any identified could be punished and lessons learned from that to prevent future occurrence.

  You r right. My ward was very sick on that Friday evening and no staff member of the school called me. It took efforts of my daughter s friends to get to me at 9pm that she was very sick and had collapsed . I asked them to inform their house mistress so they could send her to the hospital cuz I was a bit far. The young lady on the phone said there was chaos on the campus so no member of staff was around. I got to the campus at 9 .15 and was told she had been sent to manhyia hospital. When I got to the hospital at 9.30 pm there were about 10 other students who had been rushed down and they were just lying on benches in pain and nurses with laissez-faire attitude attending to them. My daughter complained of severe pain in the chest and she kept crying and nurses shouting at her to shut. She could not walk and so were the other students. The least said about the behavior of nurses at manhyia hospital the better. My problem is what caused the sudden illness of all those students on that Friday nite. There were many students who were also taken ill suddenly on that Friday night in other health facilities. This must be investigated

  Good suggestion. I fully agree with you . There should be a fact finding committee set up to ascertain the very causes of their deaths. Did they have anything in common when they were alive? Were there common features in the illnesses that led to their deaths. It is too early to conclude but have to wait for the post mortem report if only it will be made public for further analysis of the situation.

  If it's not true that the blood of these innocent children are being used
  to appease the gods that helped u win power then we demand immediate transfer of the Kumaca Headmaster and the Regional Director of GES just as you did with the Tanko the reg. police

  salvaged the situation halting the death at just under five! Bravo parents of Kumaca Senior High School. U r the gem. Most of U voted for but you were warned but u refused, now U are seeing the quensequenses. We all have to bear with these sad situations
  until December 2020. Next time go and repeat the same mistakes at the ballot box.

  It is indeed sad to hear news about loss of human lives particularly when it is from a school you attended. It is unusual when three students die within 15 days on a campus. My concern and worry is the poor media reportage.Those journalists exaggerated in their reportages . The situation though scary it wasn't as scary as the media houses broadcast it. Only a few students raised alarm to draw the attention of their parents while about 98 % of the students were on their normal duties.This cannot be classified as crisis or mayhem that calls for SOS . THE NATIONAL MEDIA COMMISSION MUST RE EDUCATE ITS MEMBERS AND RETEACH THEM MAKING THEM AWARE OF THEIR JOURNALISTIC PROFESSION . THEY PERFORMED POORLY ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE BY MAKING A MOUNTAIN OUT OF MOLEHILL. There could have been another casualties from the side of the parents who heard the news
