People should be ashamed to live around filth. They should shame these ppl to keep their communities clean. The city should have public garbage bins all over.

We, Ghnaians, are ourselves to blame for the filth in our environment and should not expect a one day Sanitation clean up monthly to solve the problem!! We ourselves should change our mentality by reducing or totally eliminating waste production. I personally do not accept any polythene bag (especially black ones) when I buy something, I reuse those I have. In fact, I have extra large, medium, smaller and small sized polythene bags in my office bag, all doubled, such that they are strengthened and last a whole year and more in my bag. In addition, I do not buy a single pure-water sachet outside and drink pure water sachets only within the four wall of my office and home. These are then put into a separate collection, for recycling. I also do not buy things in traffic as that is part of the refuse generation, all those who buy in traffic either drop the polythene into the vehicle or smewhere and somehow on the way, so juts open your eyes and take note of the increased occurrence of empty sachets after traffic lights of toll booths; I have noticed it and cringe anytime I look at the Okoponglo side towards Legon....it happens there too!! Ghanaians, wake up!!!! Change your habits!!

Agbogbloshie E-waste is making the young people of the area very sick. The Akufo administration must do something real fast to stop the dumping and burning of E-waste.

Problem is consistency of policy. Why will anyone clean on Sanitation Saturday when we all fully know that come Monday new rubbish will again be dumped at the same place that was cleaned. There is no law enforcement and the squatters and scrap dealers just continue to dump and burn at Agbogbloshie. Huge amounts were spent in cleaning and clearing. Go see the place again today. The slum is back and building of kiosks is going on quickly along the river and so is the rubbish.
