Why as a country very fascinating about cars. Come to Washington DC and you will see a General riding in a mass transit. Riding V8 Cars on unpaved roads, yes millions of dollars to help employing other countries.

Badu to Adofo Rockson, Ghanaweb has been bombarded with one ignorant fabrication after another preaching to a bunch of morons and educated but ignorant NPP and NDC base and this is what we get in Ghana. This decision by the president, Nana Akufo-Addo, who as of last week was lying through his collection of ignorant inner circle that the government will not buy additional cars shows that no matter how much education some Ghanains attain they will never get the gutter level thinking that comes from tribal backwardness from their system. How many toilet facilities do we have in parliament and all the government buildings around town? How many places around Ghana can people stop and take a sip at drinking fountains? And yet here we are with "kokoase" NPP and NDC members of parliament ramming through a bill to finance cars for morons who could not buy or own cars from hard work but from a degenerate NPP government. For the few left with brain here in Ghana and readers on Ghanaweb next time you read articles from old fools in the Diaspora masquerading as some new wise men write about corruption and wisdom see them for what they are; a bunch of no good sorry ass creatures who may present themselves as educated but are ignorant to the bone.

If MPS need cars, like everybody, why can't they apply for loans individually from the comercial banks? This practice whereby government approves loans for them to effect payment for purchasing cars must stop forthwith.

It's a loan so any MP who does not want it does not have to take it. Many of them can buy their own vehicles and miniseries use govt vehicles anyway so this is free loan without interest

This is "legalized" theft borne on the backs of poor farmersand othe less-privileged in the society. And while we are at it what is this crazy concept on "ex-gratia payments"? These people go around begging for these jobs and then at the end of their terms have to be paid "appreciation money" for their work. Four years from now this theft is rebooted in the next parliament and the vicious cycle continues.

How can MP's pay the car loan of 80,000.00 dollars in 4yrs? With their pay check of 7,000 dollars a month. With interest of even 2% will be nearly $84000 for the 4yrs. Which means their monthly payments would be almost $1800. ...

Whether the MPs refund the amount over 4 years or not, it is not fair to the tax payer. $22 million can be used to do more important projects for the benefit of the poor people of this country. Why can't the MPs go to the banks to raise loans to purchase their vehicles? If the ordinary person wants to buy a vehicle for his use where does he go if he does not have the cash? The bank of course. So MPs should go to the bank, not depend on state funds. What is the opportunity cost? Loss of good drinking water for the rural folk, or cheap houses for the poor. This is sheer madness.
