This CPP as a party is dead, I wonder why human beings are still wasting their time and energy on it.

If you have people like Kwabena Bonfe aka Kabila, who's an NDC man in the thick of affairs in the CPP what do u expect. Kabila is just trying or helping to destroy the CPP in favour of NDC

I seriously doubt the CPP has any vitality left in it to survive the next decade. It has progressively withered, and shown to be incapable of resuscitating itself from the immense asphyxiation by its nascent foes.
The damage that the UP/NLM inflicted upon the CPP has been way too deep, reaching to its very foundation. The subsequent long hiatus the Party took to attempt reviving itself also allowed the various incarnations of the 'Matemeho' Party to beat up on the CPP remnant organization without any concerted resistance, thereby stripping the Party of its structural frame into thin, ever-swaying edifice that barely has a chance to survive.
So, the members of the Party ought to reorganize under a new name to make it more attractive to the young who could help bolster its structure. The fact that the Deputy Chairman voted for an outsider must inform the rest of the Party leadership that its members have lost hope in the survival of the Party as it is.
The members must vote to let go the name and aggressively reorganize as most progressive Party that embraces a mixed Economy if they care to offer any viable alternative to the dead Communism and dying Capitalism in Ghana and elsewhere.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Nkrumah died with CPP. Why? Because he left no successor; and many of his close associates did not share his selfless vision. Perhaps he would have needed more time to groom someone younger. As for his peers they paid lip service to his ideology. He died a continental hero, and his name no longer fits partisan politics. CPP had a second chance to re-engineer itself in the period 1979 - 1981, but those who know will tell you the ugliness of goings on within the party in that short 2 year period; which made it easy for Papa Jay to stage his come back. As for attributing the waning fortunes of the party to the UP tradition, I say no, the NDC has had more to do with the disorganizing of the CPP; exploiting the readiness of adherents of the CPP to align with NDC with the sole purpose of preventing their arch enemy, the NPP from coming to power. A case of 'if NPP then better the devil' The NDC knows this and exploits it.
This CPP as a party is dead, I wonder why human beings are still wasting their time and energy on it.
