Now ask yourselves what the authorities would do to them if not sentence them to death. I don't understand why foreign nationals get a free ticket to do as they please in Ghana. I watched locked up and forgotten( something like that) a documentary on Ghanaian jails and I didn't see on white face. Shame on you Mr Ndoum for saying arrest and deport them. They broke the law of the land. Arrest,jail,then deport. That would send a sensible message.

No need to sack anybody. The youth needs jobs and having travelled to many of the "Galamsey" areas one could see that the small -scale mining was left unchecked or unregulated for years hence the extent of the land degradation. Authorities could simply reclaim the land by using bulldozers to refill the land where cocoa or other crops could easily be replanted. In the nutshell the land is still there, and can be put to good use.
The use of river bodies for washing of gold dust could also be controlled and if good environmental practises were enforced our rivers will be there for generations to come. Bare in mind that other human activities such as industrial waste, dumping of refuse etc pollute river bodies not only galamsey. Some miners around the Amenfi -West district in the W/R were not even pumping water from the Tano river for washing of gold dust. Then they dispose the waste water into giant pits which are eventually covered with loose soil. So sustainable small-scale mining can be managed effectively.
Looking at the massive employment galamsey had generated and the billions of cedis in revenue generation, where the government can still make millions from to fulfill the campaign promises, why sack the foreigners by destroying the existing jobs when the "thousands of jobs " promised during the election campaigns had not yet started.
