Parents can force their children to school but it is the children who decide to stay in school and or study. You and your ideals can go to hell for all I care. The fact in Ghana is not one of free or pay-as-you-go education but one of getting jobs after a lengthy education. What is a graduating senior from JSS, SS, Vocational technical or university supposed to look forward to when there are more people graduating each year but fewer job opportunities to go around? If the minister is smart she will spend her time coming up with ideas to improve the job market in Kumasi and not propose herding children into dead-end school systems without an exit strategy. It is this wonderful Ghana education system that gave us all the shallow-minded and unrepentant thieves masquerading as legislators or member of parliament. In the mean time we have all the educated men and women who are more ignorant than most of Ghana's uneducated and under-educated folks. Why do you think Ghana's so-called educated class are mostly falling over each other to get to parliament where they can steal if there were meaningful jobs out there or they have a clue how to create jobs?
By the way why will the rotten minister not ask the NPP government to guarantee cars for every parent in Ghana with a school age child so those parents can get their children to school, look for work and pay their car notes? If the NPP government of Nana Akufo-Addo think it is good business to use Ghana as a piggy bank to buy US$ 22 million worth of cars for new appointees why would it not be good for Ghana to help parents and households? Oh I forgot there are no jobs in Ghana for those parent to find so they cannot pay off their car notes.
