  I am an Asante but I think this is one very good appointment made by Nana Addo so far. Yes, it's true the guy defected from the NDC to join the NPP at the last minute, but that also may have had its own good effect for the NPP. We don't know how many of his people may have joined him to defect to the NPP. We should remember that he was very vocal in the NDC and an opinion leader of some sort. Also, he campaigned so vigorously for the NPP once he had joined the party. I think it's beautiful that being someone of northern extraction he is rewarded to show that we all are one and the same people. After all so many Asantes have been appointed already, how many northerners in Ashanti Region have been appointed? Please, we Asantes can't be greedy. We alone can't make the party win.

  Brother Awal late defection to the NPP and his style of campaigning was a total damaged to the NDC Zongo strong holds hence NPP massive gains in those constituencies. What would have taken NPP thousand years to cause a damage, he did it in a few months. He really deserves this award and this is called merit. Congratulation my brother.
