Mahama's last domestic borrowing had a yield of 25%, the NPP borrowing ignorant Adongo is referring to is at 19.75 %. HUGE difference.

The borrowing Mahama did for the most past of his presidency was short term (desperate borrowing), and so putting a lot of pressure on government to meet high debt servicing obligations in the short term. The loan NPP just floated is at 15 years!HUGE difference.

ADONGO go and do you homework before you comment further on this issue. You are shallow in your arguments.

And by the way, debt is not bad in so far as the money borrowed is put into productive ventures that help pay off the debt, grow the economy and create jobs.Well managed debt is highly productive!

NDC borrowed short term and looted the proceeds, NPP is borrowing long term and investing in productive projects.

There lies the difference between NDC borrowing and NPP borrowing.

We all heard Bawumia loud and clear that the NPP won't borrow; rather they will close all the bottlenecks that other's use to siphon money out of the state kitty. You were one of those those who hailed him as an economics messiah and swallowed all his lies, hook, line and sinker. You claimed the NDC borrowed short=term to share among their faithfuls. Are you for real? How do you account for all the infrastructure projects dotted all around the country? Before you protest, I can tell you for a fact that my village Avenorpeme now has a brand new multi-purpose community SHS building. The road from Abor to Hatorgodo, which had been neglected for donkeys years not tarred, is tarred. What about the Sofoline-interchange or the Kwame Nkrumah interchange, Ridge Hospital, Legon Teaching Hospital ect? I hope you don't need to be elevated to appreciate these infrastructure projects. My prayer is the NPP should continue from where the NDC left off.

Ghanaians voted your government out of power for borrow?ing without going through the parliament and sharing the money amongst yourselves. They are getting a loan through the right channel and use it for value for money projects like the one district one factory project to create jobs for the youth to make the country great again and then pay it back. Not loan and not repay banks to collapse the bank and then sell it on top to make money. You ndc guys need to shut up to let the good guys rebuild our country for us.

I listened to Bawumia and Nana Addo when Npp was in opposition. They did not criticise Ndc for borrowing but borrowing and not accounting for the borrowing. Npp at the time said Ndc could have done a lot with the money borrowed. Buwumua cited specific examples where monies borrowed were unaccounted for. Adongo is confused. Leverage is the only way to financed investments in Ghana given that most of the revenue mobilised in Ghana is used to pay public sector wages.
Borrow but invest it wisely so that the returns can service our loan obligation and make the nation a healthy return on investment. There is nothing wrong with that and Npp is doing the right thing. I will be disappointed if president Akufo Addo does not take advantage of Ghana's favourable credit rating to borrow, invest and get ghana out of poverty. Borrow but do not squander like the Ndc did.
