The Director should have known better. Canning the teacher is equally wrong as the teacher for GES has asked teachers to stop corporal punishment. Two wrongs do not make a right

Those of you condemning the actions of the Director need your heads examined. You are stuck in the past. What right has the teacher to abuse a child? The parents send their child to school to be taught and not to be abused. It is time teachers are educated concerning the basic human rights of child. Ghana is a signatory of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This convention should be made a module in every teacher training college to be taught. I don't condone the actions of the director since it can undermine the authority of the teacher but being a woman and maybe a mother herself, her first instinct was anger seeing a child being molested by an adult. It is time we change our outlook and remember that children are only little vulnerable adults.

This action of the director will scare other teachers. Children are human beings therefore should be respected and talked to. I do that to mine and it works. Most children are depressed and therefore need love. Teach them how to love one another and the world will be a better place. Teachers let your behavior encourage students to become teachers. Sorry these two teachers had to experience this treatment. Let's move on. Time of slavery iso over

People should stop the hypocrisy and admit the truth. We have all gone through this painful ordeal in the hands of people we call our teachers/mentors.People had been disfigured and some lost their self esteem due to this act. its wrong to cane a child....Teachers use other methods to correct children.

Those condemning the Directors action are thinking of the past where teachers abused pupils with impunity without recourse to the pupils right, but now Teachers have not got all that power to abuse children who are in class two and may be 7 years of age.The Director who might be a parent of the same ages of the children in question,was alarmed and with pains in his heart,had to run quickly to intervene on behalf of the children.Some of these untrained teachers have no hearts towards young children of that age by themselves and have no compassion for children as little as those she was canning .
